OK (I respect you by the way, even though we disagree):

what do you make of the development that Libby will not testify?

I think it is odd. My overall take on what I've read of the testimony is that it didn't go well for Scooter. I can buy "I forgot until Russert said that, and I was surprised, but then I remembered talking about it with Judy, and I think I grabbed that CIA guy out of a meeting shortly after I learned it, and me and Cathie talked about it, and maybe a couple of others. Ari? Don't remember."

But to say "I forgot that VP told me, then I remembered that, but I didn't remember the 7-8 other times I talked about it, even the same week as Russert" is a bit of a stretch.

And - here's my real - and only - defense of Fitz. I think Libby left him little choice. He let Rove come back five times to straighten out the kinks in his story. But Libby stuck hard to his. I think Fitz wouldn't have charged him if he'd done the gradual coming clean that Rove reportedly did.
