Actually, if we REALLY want to fix the problem, change the damned law that makes the Speaker #3 in the batting order. What might have made sense back in 1947 is no longer the case. How many speakers have resigned in disgrace since then? I think past speakers from both sides of the aisle have shown us what a singularly bad idea having the SOH after the VP in the line of succession. Go back to having Cabinet officers come next. Condi first.
