PRINCETON, NJ -- As former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani inches closer to a formal declaration of his candidacy for the 2008 Republican nomination for president, the challenge he faces among Republicans with his support of abortion rights and same-sex civil unions is clear in a recent USA Today/Gallup Poll.
Giuliani is extraordinarily well-liked and respected by the American public. He also ties with or leads Arizona Sen. John McCain as the frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination in recent Gallup polls. At the same time, his views on abortion and same-sex civil unions are unknown to most rank and file Republicans. Once informed of Giuliani's positions, a sizable minority of Republicans say they would reconsider their support for the otherwise popular and well-respected Republican luminary.

Can you?
Okay, I see that logic and reason are beyond you and that you will answer in vagueries and platitudes rather than thought and reason. If you can't grasp the difference between the guy down the block thinking evil thoughts about you and the guy around the corner who tries to break into your house every night because he'll kill you if he succeeds in breaking in, then there is little point in continuing the conversation.
"People are always ..." is not an argument.
Yes
Pro-lifers are merely treating Rudy EXACTLY the way Rudy himself treats the unborn.........as a useless, disposable nuisance
Abortion is savagery beyond imagination.
Psychiatrists with principles should come forward to explain the deep-rooted psychoses of people like Rudy who get a sense of personal satisfaction unleashing abortionists with knives and suction machines on helpless unborn babies, and the threat people like Rudy pose to the rest of us.
Placed in a position of power, Rudy's obsession with legalized killing may not stop with the unborn. Those of us that espouse a reverence for human life shudder at the thought of this disturbed individual, Rudy Giuliani, being unleashed on America.
From the FEC database: 04/24/1999 NEW YORK STATE NARAL INC WOMEN'S HEALTH POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE DONATIONS:
NARAL donated exclusively to Democrat candidates with one exception----Rudy Giuliani.
Giuliani accepted $1,000 from NARAL in 1999.
NARAL gave $250 to Hillary Rodham Clinton.
NARAL gave $1000---4 times as much-----to pro-abortion Giuliani.
Clearly, NARAL trusted Rudy's pro-abortion credentials, and Rudy's willingness to advance NARAL's radical abortion-on-demand agenda, even more than NARAL trusted Hillary.
Rudy was the honored guest speaker and made The Opening Remarks to the N.A.R.A.L. "Champions of Choice" Luncheon few years back.
In a CNN interview Giuliani indicated he does not support even a modest ban on the gruesome partial-birth abortion procedure saying, "No, I have not supported that, and I don't see my position on that changing." Giuliani also indicated he would have upheld President Clinton's veto of the partial-birth abortion ban.
"Maybe" Rudy offered women "other options" to abortion, as you indicated, but Rudy told Phil Donahue he'd give his daughter the money for an abortion (to get rid of his own grandchild).
When everything is simmering on the back burners worldwide in a stable detante
1938? 1859? 09/10/01?
Oh....never mind...
I'm sorry, I usually don't post with little first-hand knowledge.
I used to listen to his show every Friday am. and he was so straight, so smart. I remember when he threw Arafat out of Carnegie Hall. He just didn't give a damn what anyone else said.
So, considering his sanity on so many issues, and seeing the way he turned NYC around. And he DID. It just was not the same city after.. it's so hard to believe that he doesn't agree on abortion.
Maybe it's my wishful thinking, but even recently, on the Hannity interview, he did support the 'law of the land', but always leaves room to think that if he could change that law of the land he would.
Didn't he say clearly that he could be counted on to name right wing judges, and he clearly referenced Roe v. Wade and that we could probably count on it being somewhat overturned and sent back to the States?
Check out that video, he really was clear...(or maybe it's just wishful thinking.)
Apparently calcowgirl was able to obtain the link from nopardons.
Here is her helpful breakdown:

Thanks for reading it! An obscure masterpiece, without names to generate google hits, lol.
In short... there's no there there. If one wanted to lynch everyone who received a dollar from BW, the entire GOP would be wearing stripes.
Certainly appreciate your research on this,
as will all FRiends of Hunter.
Either put up or shut up.
No problem, Sarah---just use the unimpeachable facts---now that you have them.
Rudy is firmly joined at the hip to NARAL, Planned Parenthood and the rest of the abortionators.
No way will they let him move anywhere but ahead----to expand abortion rights every possible way. You can count on it.
"Maybe" Rudy offered women "other options" to abortion, as you indicated, but Rudy told Phil Donahue he'd give his daughter the money for an abortion (to get rid of his own grandchild).
Just imagine what he'd do for YOU!!!
He's a nighmare!
Indeed, that would push more people away.
However, many women feel like they really don't have a choice, or don't have any support.
I don't think being pro-life = standing and screaming. Silent witness and prayer helps as well. As does giving people information that support is out there (birthrite.org), as does educating people as to when different biological events occur.
You do realize that there are pro-life atheists, right?
That PDF has been debunked by calcowgirl because the case was dismissed. I would hope you would denounce the attempts by Ameribrit to falsely accuse Duncan Hunter of criminality - especially when she would never provide links on FR to back up her claims.
That first sentence leaves out giving up the child for adoption!
The second sentence is clearly unChristian. God's forgiveness, man's repentance, and man's salvation is not your decision nor business. Detraction is unattractive in a Godly person.
The writings of a pro-life atheist (Nat Hentoff) helped me along the path to a pro-life position.
{{Shiver}}You got that right.
Giussolini took money from NARAL---a key abortionator. He is joined at the hip with NARAL. No way will NARAL allow Giussolini to do anything but expand abortion rights to unseen dimensions. God knows what this crowd is planning.
Now that he's got the presidential bug, Giussolini's trying to wiggle out his pact with abortion b/c he knows he goes nowhere without pro-lifers.
We expect candidates to retool their positions--- WE DO NOT ACCEPT CANDIDATES LYING TO US ABOUT THEIR POSITIONS. Julie-annie made his bed with the abortion crowd long ago. Now he has to lie in it.
As a Duncan Hunter supporter, I hope the Rudy supporters do post what they think they have on Hunter.
What they think they have is on web sites of the far left.
I have seen them and have checked what they support.
It is an honor to have Hunter smeared by these people as it tells Hunter is doing his job for America and Conservative principles.
One smear site has for their list of source agenda,
SEIU CA (which is the huge Left Wing service union)
(Berkeley Labor Center) and other left wing groups.
