There is a lot more to being a social conservative than "speaking out" on the issues you mentioned. You are cherry picking and ignoring a host of other issues where Rudy is quite liberal.
I think there were two freepers not too long ago who mentioned here that they support Rudy. The thing that I admired about both of these people is the fact that they admitted that Rudy is a liberal republican, but they were supporting him for other reasons. While I don't respect their decision to vote for a liberal republican, I respect their honesty. I think Rudy supporters here would appear a lot more honest if they would just admit that they are supporting a liberal republican. Jim Robinson, and many others here, have come to the same conclusion I have; Rudy is a liberal. His record speaks for itself.

You are cherry picking and ignoring a host of other issues where Rudy is quite liberal. Horse feces. I conceded that Rudy is liberal on the main social issues such as abortion, gay rights, and gun control. However, his fiscal and national security conservatism, in addition to being conservative on other social issues such as the welfare state and poverty, more than makes up for this.
Besides, for the millionth time Rudy doesn't have any power over abortion, gay rights or the 20,000 gun control laws that were already in effect before he became nationally known. If you think voters are more concerned over these three or four social issues than over the broader context of limiting government and winning the war on terrorism, which would resolve the aforementioned other issues, you're crazy.

Rudy is a liberal Apparently, conservatives no longer care about limiting government anymore. Rudy record is more conservative than the class of 1994 Congressional Republicans who pissed away 12 years.
