Giuliani Strikes a Note With California GOP Testing the Waters, Former N.Y. Mayor Garners 4 Ovations

SACRAMENTO, Feb. 10 -- Rudolph W. Giuliani came west to learn whether his brand of Republican politics has a chance among party members significantly more conservative than himself. By the time he had received a fourth standing ovation Saturday at the California Republican Party convention, the answer seemed clear.

Equating the U.S. fight against terrorism with the Civil War and the Cold War, Giuliani told about 750 of his party's faithful that failure in Iraq would turn that country into a "massive headquarters for terrorism."

"Having had a job where I didn't have any choice but to make a decision," the former mayor of New York said, "prepares you as best you can be prepared to be the president of the United States."

I see a student deferment, nothing about draft evasion.

You initially said "all" social issues. Are you now back tracking from that statement?

Backtracking? LOL Obviously you can't answer the question in full. Not a partial answer. A full answer. You still haven't told me where I was wrong.

The reason you can't make a distinction between Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Chuck Schumer, Joe Lieberman and Rudy Giuliani on the social issues, is because there is no distinction that can be made.

LOL. Let the record show that Reagan Man now twice has said that there is no distiction between the Clintons, Kerry, Kennedy, Schumer, Lieberman(sure throw him in, it just makes you more wrong) and Giuliani on social issues.

Gee let's see;

But you Reagan man think that there is no difference on social issues between Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Chuck Schumer, Joe Lieberman.

Let the record show that I gave you Reagan Man a chance to back track.

Let the record clearly show that you Reagan Man don't know what the hell you are talking about.

I don't even think Giuliani will win the nomination. His ex-wife is almost as crazy as Theresa Heinz Kerry. But I'm damn sure he has a better shot than Duncan "Nobody knows who the hell I am" Hunter. Ask Lamar Alexander how being a conservative in Congress helps your Presidential chances.

I never said draft dodging. God rest your uncle's soul and may He Bless him for his sacrifice.

As a graduate, he got a Judge to go beyond a student deferment. But then, no one but Rudy can win a war, right?

Oh? So you "like" Cheney, even though he and Rudy have the SAME draft deferments, do you?

You really are a hypocrite!

They wouldn't be the first ones brought back from the dead on that show! I'm thinking it might be the (previously deceased) father of Zach, (Alex), or the (previously deceased) brother of Zach (Michael). Can't figure out how Janet would know any of the bunch, though. Only in soapland!

I'm not "pushing" Rudy. I'm only documented the conservative aspects of Rudy when posters misrepresent it.

If you weren't such a dope you would know the difference.

LOL, you are clueless. And predictable.

So do tell, is Cheney running? And when did Cheney take money from NARAL? Sue a gun manufacturer? Wear a dress raising money from queers? Accept a Liberal Party nomination? Appoint Democrats? Endorse Democraps? Please dear lady tell us, when did these things happen?

I really want you to keep spamming; as strange as that might seem, to you and others.

The more you and your crowd do what you are doing, the MORE people you are angering and driving away from your side. You folks are doing one heck of a terrific job, FOR RUDY and against yourselves.

Since you asked:
I’m pro-choice. I’m pro-gay rights, Giuliani said. He was then asked whether he supports a ban on what critics call partial-birth abortions. “No, I have not supported that, and I don’t see my position on that changing,” he responded. Source: CNN.com, “Inside Politics” Dec 2, 1999 http://www.ontheissues.org/2008/Rudy_Giuliani_Abortion.htm

ANDERSON COOPER 360 DEGREES (November 14, 2006)

RUDY GIULIANI (R), FORMER MAYOR OF NEW YORK CITY: I'm pro- choice. I'm pro-gay rights.

KING: Giuliani supports a woman's right to an abortion, and back in 1999, he opposed a federal ban on late-term abortions.

GIULIANI: No, I have not supported that, and I don't see my position on that changing.

KING: Immigration could be another presidential landmine. Back in 1996, Mayor Giuliani went to federal court to challenge new federal laws requiring the city to inform the federal government about illegal immigrants.

JEFFREY: He took the side of illegal immigrants in New York City against the Republican Congress.

KING: Giuliani opposes same-sex marriage but as mayor, he supported civil unions and extending health and other benefits to gay couples. He also supported the assault weapons ban and other gun control measures opposed by the National Rifle Association.

GIULIANI: I'm in favor of gun control. I'm pro-choice.

Republican Big-Wigs Support Pro-Abortion Event in NY

Pro-abortion Governor George Pataki and New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who also supports unrestricted abortion, are co-chairs of the 2000 Choice Award Presentation to be held on May 30 at the St. Regis Hotel in New York City. The event is sponsored by the Republican Pro-Choice Coalition, a group that is campaigning for the removal of the pro-life plank from the Republican National Platform.

I am staunchly pro-life, but I don't see why other pro-lifers are so anti Rudy. As president he could only influence abortion law through his judicial nominations and he has already said that he would only appoint strict constructionists.

On the most significant issue of the day, the war on terror, he is a very desirable candidate.

Again I ask where does it say draft evasion? I am not asking for your opinion or interpretation of what you think it says. If you are going to make such a statement dont you think it should be factual?
