If Lincoln's views are, at worst, no different than Lee or Davis or Jackson then they should be included in your condemnation, no?

Doubtful. Being Southern slave supporters they were no doubt already considered racist. Far more fun to judge Lincoln by today's standards and condemn him. If they knew how much they were gladening the hearts of Southron supporters everywhere I wonder if they'd still do it?
their word's are not charished save in military matters because they were known bigots. Doesn't take rocket science to figure that out. It is also true that everyone is effected by their contemperaries but to say Lincoln was not a independant thinker even against factions of his own party is just plan stupid.
