This article seems to say that we should be single issue voters. I don't like abortion, and I want to limit it as much as possible, but don't want to criminalize it for first trimester. Too many people are single issue voters on both sides of the political spectrum.
Also, Rudy's position has been mischaracterized somewhat here. He is pro-choice, but believes marriage is between a man and woman. I don't have a problem with civil unions, and Rudy doesn't want to take away my gun.
See his interview with Sean Hannity.

I might as well use my first post on FR to express my views on Rudy. Too many times single issue voters seem to get bashed around here. I'm not a single-issue voter, but do base my vote on a limited number of issues that are very important to me -- among them abortion, firearms owner's rights, illegal immigration, gay marriage and the war on terror. Rudy is on the other (read as liberal) side of the issue on four of those five. I won't vote for anyone who only supports 20 percent of what I believe to be very important.

If someone hadn't supported that "single issue," for you, how many other issues would you have?
