"For every half a million Texans that sign up for insurance under this plan it would cost the state a little more than $200 million and help us draw down a federal match of more than $300 million.

Under Healthier Texas, the state would provide monthly premium assistance payments of as much as $150 per individual, depending on family income. For some this would help with the purchase of a catastrophic plan.
