Thats HPV not HIV, either way I don't see a problem in requiring shots in a public school. I don't think the stare should outright pay for it, but offer assistance as needed. I think ppl are just upset because the disease the shot prevents requires sex for it to be transmitted. Many parents are probably in denial that there 6th grader would engage in such activity, bu they do. Beyond that, we should vaccinate for many diseases, and I support the requirement.

Thats HPV not HIV.
I know that, it was my entire question.
This is very suspicious because the disease in question only effects women.

There are risks to all vaccinations. You do realize that.
We have a friend whose daughter died after a DPT shot.
Cervical cancer is fairly rare can be detected early and treated with routine pap smears, and there are no risks involved in doing routine pap smears. It seems like the best way to prevent/treat cervical cancer is through pap smears.
The risks for this vaccine are too high.

so the state can mandate that all children are to be vaccinated against a sexually transmitted disease ?
why don't they also demand norplant at the same time so as to prevent teenaged pregnancy ?
