it has to be more then just "her choice" - that was a landmark incident in changing concealed carry laws. if there were no restrictions, it would have been just a passing story.

I think you're right. I don't know Texas law at the time, but I do remember it as a significant incident. If I had to rely on my memory, and a search would find the answer in no time, she had no carry permit thus left her firearm in the trunk in compliance with the law.
