It wasn't a particularly good ad, but it was an add about pro-homosexual ad either. It was an ad that played off of homosexual panic.
Lots of that seems to be going around this place, as well.
The snickers ad simply put will lower the bar for male homosexual depictions on prime time tv. By next season you will be seeing gay men kissing on network prime time TV shows. I recall the night that Howard Stern had 2 women kiss on Leno's show and soon after that it became very common for women to kiss even in prime time and daytime TV. Leno acted kind of upset by that and went to commercial quickly. He probably was fully aware though what Stern had in mind.
