Martial Arts and Film Legend Chuck Norris Now Fights Abortion

WASHINGTON, February 2, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) – “Instead of killing we say aborting; instead of dissect we say research.”  Those words were published last January 22, the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade by none other than martial arts legend and action film star Chuck Norris.

Chuck Norris is a Hollywood film star famous for his martial arts films beginning in 1973 with “Return of the Dragon” with Bruce Lee, and especially for his role as Walker in the 1993-2001 hit television series “Walker, Texas Ranger.” Now, the renowned martial arts champion takes on the culture of death as a recommitted Christian in a column at WorldNetDaily.com entitled “The aftermath of legalized abortion.”
 
“In an evolutionary, self-centered world, in which man is nothing more than a glorified ape aimlessly shooting for stars of deification, it's not difficult to understand how the slippery slope of human degradation has led from fetal devaluing to discarding,” wrote Norris at WorldNetDaily where he is a featured weekly columnist.

Norris wrote that after the Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion, “the primacy of a woman's rights prevailed and the rights of the unborn were not only abandoned, but their nature legally reduced to nonhuman.” That legacy of abortion, Norris continued, has lead to an unimaginable aftermath for a practice that needs to cover guilt and accountability in euphemisms: “instead of baby we say fetus; instead of killing we say aborting; instead of dissect we say research; instead of extermination chambers we say abortion clinics – ad nauseam.”
 
Norris’ pro-life advocacy is a key part of his renewed Christian faith, a faith he says was nourished by his mother and Billy Graham as a youth, but lost when he succumbed to the moral temptations and glamour of Hollywood.

Chuck Norris“For too many years I was in rebellion to God. Now I'm a rebel with a cause for God and for grassroots America,” Norris told his WND audience in a Christmastime column, where he credited his second wife Gena’s devotion to her Baptist faith as “the instrument to my spiritual renewal.”

The former star of “Walker” said that Americans needed to clone a few creeds in order to bring back civility to America such as:
 
1. I believe human life is made in the image of God and as such has intrinsic value, worthy to save. And, as human beings, all zygotes are 'created equal, that they are endowed, by their Creator, with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.' (Preamble of the Declaration of Independence).”
 
2. I believe aborting or destroying human life is morally wrong and goes against God's law.

3. I believe ours and others' mistakes can be forgiven and even turned around for the good.

“There might be illegitimate parents in the world – I know because I was one, but there are not illegitimate children,” stated Norris, who related his own experience about how God brought the blessing of his daughter Dina out of an affair that wrecked his first marriage. Norris said his daughter is no mistake and very much apart of his life and family like all his children.

“God has a plan and purpose for each of our lives. And He can turn around what we and others mean for harm and use it for good,” said the famous “Texas Ranger”. “If you or someone you know has aborted a baby or is contemplating such a decision, I strongly encourage you to seek some help.”

I'm going to respectfully disagree with you.

Entertainers who flaunt their ignorance in matters of public policy and national security are deservedly derided.

However, entertainers who take a stand on issues of morality (something within their purview) are few and far in between, and should be applauded - IMO.

He is just so very right!!! It's wonderful to know there are people like Chuck in the film industry; there are so many who are nothing at all like him!!

Practice makes perfect, though, and I think Chuck would not fail if he practiced. He knows discipline. A good coach could help, too.

The fact that he tried makes me wonder where he is heading.

If Chuck has presidential aspirations I would be very surprised ... he's too commonsensical for that dream. This nation cannot afford to elect a President without executive experience, and extensive executive experience at that. Senators and congress critters will not do for leadership like we need presently. Even Reagan had experience running California.
