Maybe someone needs to ask the question, "If Hunter does get the nomination, how many of these Rudy McRomneyites will swallow the bile they have been spewing and vote for him?"

Oh, I'd vote for Hunter in a second.

Won't make a bit of difference. He'll still lose 35 states, but I'll certainly vote for him.

Unlike the unappeasables, I'll vote for a dog over Hillary.

Please be nice to them as they are angry that their man hasn't decided what party he is running under yet. I will LMAO if it is what I think it will be.

A hell of a lot more than the turnout of the Religious Right if we don't nominate an anti-abortion Evangelical!

The Fundies are notorious for taking their ball and running home if we don't play their game the way they like. I personally think if we can get rid of them, we'd gain more moderate Independents and Conservative Democrats than we would lose to the new Pat Robertson Party.

I don't think any of Hunters critics here would have any trouble voting for him in the general election. Most of them like him and his politics (except the protectionism claptrap) more than they like the politics of Rudy/Mitt/John who they are supporting. They are not attacking Duncan Hunter The Man they are attacking Duncan Hunter the Presidential Candidate. Should the Lord descend on high in his flaming chariot and by his miraculous powers get Duncan Hunter nominated I'm sure 99% of Freepers will vote for him. At which time they should then all pray for a second miracle in the general election.

Duncan Hunter is great guy but his supporters need to face the fact that as a Presidential candidate he is nothing more than Newt without the name recognition, grass roots support, or fundraising ability. And since even Newt knows his candidacy is not really going to happen where does that put Hunter?

I would wager every single one of them will vote for the GOP nominee, because they know the alternative is unthinkable.

Hunter's district is next door to mine. We are stuck with smarmy Bob Filner.

So we've always seen Hunter shine, and now the rest of the nation can, too.
