It is one thing to look on as an observer and realize the MSM and the court system are faulty. It is quite another to witness an event unfolding, and to realize exactly what was going on and to see it twisted by both the MSM and our legal system. The sorrowful shock of witnessing such a flipping of the truth takes the breath away. Suddenly one realizes he is surrounded by a media, by a legal system, by detractors and they simply shout down the truth. In liberal fashion, they outvote the truth as they think they outvote God. Reminds me of the old line, "Say it ain't so, Joe."

[JURIST] In a startling turn of events in the Schiavo case that could be taken as either revelation or desperation, attorneys for Terri Schiavo's parents argued at a late Friday emergency hearing by telephone with a Florida circuit court judge that she told them last Friday - after her feeding tube was removed [JURIST report] - that she wanted to live. Attorney Barbara Weller claimed in a supporting affidavit [text] that she had been interacting with Schiavo and that at one point she told Schiavo that the matter could end if Schiavo could just say “I want to live.” Weller claimed that Schiavo responded to her, articulating the sounds "Ahhhhhhh" and "Waaaaaaaa". but could not continue.

When asked by Judge George Greer why something had not been said about this earlier, principal Schindler attorney David Gibbs said he had been busy preparing for federal trial of Schiavo's case. Michael Schiavo attorney George Felos dismissed the contention that Terri Schiavo had communicated, calling it outrageous, a stall tactic and not reflective of any intent. Late this afternoon the Schindlers' attorneys also filed to have Judge George Greer removed from hearing any further motions in the Schiavo case on the grounds that he had persistently ruled against them over the past seven years and could not be impartial. Greer immediately denied that motion and said he would rule on the other motion on Schiavo's alleged statement by Noon Saturday. ABC WTSP-TV in Tampa has more.

CLEARWATER, Fla. -- A state judge refused Thursday to hear Gov. Jeb Bush's arguments to take custody of Terri Schiavo, leaving the brain-damaged woman's parents with only the slimmest hopes in their fight to keep her alive.

Bush's request cited new allegations of neglect and challenges the diagnoses that Schiavo is in a persistent vegetative state, but Pinellas Circuit Judge George Greer wasn't convinced.

Greer's decision came hours after the U.S. Supreme Court refused to order her feeding tube reinserted. The decisions reduce chances for quick intervention to reconnect the tube, which was pulled last Friday. Doctors have said Schiavo, 41, likely would die in a week or two without nourishment.

Schiavo's husband, Michael, had urged the high court Thursday not to intervene, saying her case has been endlessly litigated and state courts have agreed with him that she would want to die.

The appeal by her parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, was part of a rush of legal activity in the unprecedented right-to-die struggle. They have frantically tried to reconnect the tube because they deny Michael Schiavo's arguments that she has no hope for recovery and that she would not have wanted to live in such a state.

Read this slowly and carefully. It points to a structural weakness in the legal system that was exploited to commit a private murder. If the trial judge is biased or crooked, if he shapes the verdict by unfairly excluding evidence, there is no recourse. Higher courts won't even look at it.
