Still Waiting
Dakota Voice ^ | 1/29/2007 | Carrie K. Hutchens

I don't know about anyone else, but I am still waiting for Michael Schiavo to make a correction on his blog about what "actually" took place in Colorado when he went there (to the debate) to supposedly ask Congresswoman Musgrave one question and she and her staff supposedly tried to have him removed. He called it, "My unreal night in Colorado - with radio link" (Thu Oct 26, 2006 at 08:05:14 PM PST). I'll say (from what I read) that it was his "unreal night".

As I said before in "Standing up and Admitting a Mistake: Not Schiavo's Style?",  if four uniformed officers were around my seat, I would have some idea of what was going on. I certainly wouldn't be sitting in "duh mode" to only be told later of what took place right there around me, as Michael suggests he was. If Michael's account is realistic -- his response and reaction is not. Nor is his response appropriate now that he has "learned" what he was "allegedly told" is not what took place. One would think if he can't get the words out that he was mistaken, he could at least have removed the inaccurate entry from his blog.

He has done neither.

I'm also still waiting to read about, "Also, maybe tomorrow I'll post about my election-eve rally with Bill Clinton in Florida." (A real election impact by Michael Schiavo, Thu Nov 09, 2006 at 10:40:34 AM PST).  Indeed, I would love to read that story by Michael, since I read it was not possible. Not if he was implying it was the Bill Clinton that is the former President of the United States. Will be interesting to see what he says about that if he ever does.

If Michael couldn't get it straight what happened at the Musgrave debate or even if he spent election-eve with former President Bill Clinton -- do you suppose he might have gotten Terri Schiavo's wishes mixed-up as well? (He does claim to have a bad memory from what I read.) Makes one wonder. At least makes me wonder. Whatever...

I'm still waiting for the corrections if not the explanations!

Outside as I type, it is eight below zero, a chill by most estimates. It fits for this look at the world of bioethickers and an excerpt.

.............................

One of the arguments in the publicized Terri Schiavo case in 2005 was that her quality of life wasn't good, and therefore her feeding tube should be removed so she would starve to death.

Let me make it clear that I am not taking a stance on the Schiavo issue one way or the other, because there were many other factors involved.

But the focus of my argument is the mindset of people regarding the significance of human life.

Although experts concluded that with proper therapy, Schiavo very possibly one day could be able to eat on her own, speak and maybe even walk again, the torture in her eyes as she slowly and miserably perished were real feelings coming from a real human being.

This was only one life lost, so there wasn't a significant decline in population when she died, but it's the mentality of people regarding the issue that's so dangerous in my eyes.

Who has the right to set the standard for what quality of life is or isn't? When people are permitted to make those judgments, there's no telling what could happen.

Maybe if we let the world set the standards, our grandparents one day will be too old to have a good quality of life just based on their age and therefore will be euthanized.

Or maybe terminally ill patients will be exterminated upon diagnosis despite a history of miraculous recoveries in former cases.

In a world where abortion is used as birth control and the standard set for the quality of another person's life is determined by those outside of the circumstance, those ideas don't seem that farfetched.

Overpopulation: It's issue of ethics rather than space

I may not make it to this performance, wonder who the two husbands may be. O.J.? Scott Peterson, BTK? My mind just boggled. Oh, it is Mikey of course. No idea about the other.

The Chocolate Factory theater in Queens will be presenting the world premiere of 2 Husbands by Ken Urban, directed by TCF Artistic Director Brian Rodgers. Located at at 5-49 49th Avenue, LIC (first stop on the 7 into Queens), performances are scheduled to begin on Thursday, April 5th and end April 28th. Performances run Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 PM, with added Sunday and Monday performances on April 8th and 9th.

“2 Husbands”, state press notes, “is a heavy-duty multi-media production that follows two narratives: First, we see the husband's perspective on the vegetable state of his former wife, his wish to terminate her life-support, and the media and political circus surrounding it (based on the Terri Schiavo case). The second is a husband who recently lost his wife in a tragedy. He hires a "messenger" from the After Life Telegram Service – a real organization that connects people who are about to die with people who recently lost someone so that they can memorize a message and deliver it to them in Heaven. As soon as he does, however, his dead wife starts making ghostly appearances. It is only when these two husbands' lives intersect are they finally able to find some solace.”

Ping to wagglebee thread.

LIVINGSTON, United Kingdom, March 7, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A prenatal screening test given to a UK woman in early pregnancy showed her baby had died, and the next day she underwent a procedure to remove the child's body from the womb. Three weeks later, however, she discovered her baby was alive and healthy, in a miraculous escape from failed technology.

Jake Brown was born Feb. 24 at St. John's Hospital in Livingston, healthy and untouched by the trauma of his early development, The Telegraph reported March 7. His mother, Julie Brown, 29, said "The thought of them trying to get rid of a perfectly healthy baby makes me sick to the pit of my stomach, but I've got to move forward now."

Thread from wagglebee.

Speaking on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Dred Scott decision, Jackson told The Pathway, the journal of the Missouri Baptist Convention, that she had herself witnessed an abortion. Jackson, who is a civil rights activist, described an abortion she had seen, saying, "You see this beautiful form of a darling baby just floating around… Eventually, you really can't see the arms and legs anymore, of course, because it's being pulled apart in that particular procedure. So now you're just looking at stuff floating, where a minute ago you were looking at a baby."

Markomalley has a thread on Bobby Schindler and his visit to Cornell.

Bobby Schindler, brother of late Terri Schiavo, spoke to members of the Cornell community last night to promote awareness of issues facing disabled individuals.

~Snip~

“It was a good opportunity for Cornell to get a personal view of something with such a national interest,” said Tristen Cramer ’09, president of CCFL. Schindler said his family would have preferred not to generate national interest; family members received a large number of e-mails that condemned the family for keeping Terri alive.

“I learned a lot more true information compared to what the media portrayed,” said Kourtney Reynolds ’09.

Rebecca had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder when she was 2½ .

Wow. I didn't think a reputable psychiatrist would diagnose a toddler with those maladies. The DSM IV in fact states that certain diagnoses cannot be given regarding children under 18.

Yes, it is rather odd. How on earth could they make such a determination on a little tyke like that? But the DSS in Massachusetts consider themselves "special" and so do their psychiatrists and official soothsayers.

I seem to attract a particularly noxious variety of vermin!

So...does anyone ever actually try to change people's minds any more, or are we all just getting off on calling each other names?

I loathe euthanasia as much as anything in this world, but condemning everyone who disagrees as soulless monsters and refusing to speak to them rationally will get us nowhere.

People often have good reasons for holding imperfect positions. If we wish to change their minds, and through them the entire nation, we must address those issues directly and with love.

Before making all-encompassing judgments on us who defend life, please consider our perspective.

You may wish to review the Terri Dailies threads which have been constant and high volume over the last two years. They are consistent in theme and in projection of good will, are interrupted from time to time by disruptors, many, many trolls, the most of whom were zotted. Many of those sounded very much like soulless monsters in how they attacked us.

Those who come in good will and ernestly wish to be informed do so with the abundance of sources we keep. We have little truck with the left wing troll kind because they come with an agenda and we treat them accordingly. We keep in accord with the statements set forth and reiterated by the founder of FreeRepublic.

Dealing with disruptors and malicious of motive comes with the territory as I mentioned to wagglebee above. We have served as a news gathering activity and have helped shine the light on other victims of euthanasia attempts. In the case of Terri, the Cold Case File still is active, the events of what happened fifteen years ago still crying for justice. The evidence is abundant.

We are glad to inform and have a repository, these threads, on Terri and her Legacy virtually unmatched and watched by the media. And, most importantly, we have actually saved potential victims from harm by the spotlight we shone.

To sum up, we are providing information to those with ears to hear it and eyes to see it and to an extent it is working. We welcome your input and would be glad to bring you up to speed on the many aspects of this epic event.

Bobby Schindler:
“My sister was not dying. She was physically as healthy as you and me,” Schindler said.

And this FACT was NEVER reported by the media, nor did the media report that Terri's "life support" was food and water, with out which all of us die.

Somebody stirred up the hive.

This is as it should be.

31 Fear not therefore: better are you than many sparrows. 32 Every one therefore that shall confess me before men, I will also confess him before my Father who is in heaven. 33 But he that shall deny me before men, I will also deny him before my Father who is in heaven. 34 Do not think that I came to send peace upon earth: I came not to send peace, but the sword. 35 For I came to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
-- Matthew 10: 31-35

10 Blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 Blessed are ye when they shall revile you, and persecute you, and speak all that is evil against you, untruly, for my sake: 12 Be glad and rejoice, for your reward is very great in heaven. For so they persecuted the prophets that were before you.
-- Matthew 7:10-12
