I don't know about anyone else, but I am still waiting for Michael Schiavo to make a correction on his blog about what "actually" took place in Colorado when he went there (to the debate) to supposedly ask Congresswoman Musgrave one question and she and her staff supposedly tried to have him removed. He called it, "My unreal night in Colorado - with radio link" (Thu Oct 26, 2006 at 08:05:14 PM PST). I'll say (from what I read) that it was his "unreal night".
As I said before in "Standing up and Admitting a Mistake: Not Schiavo's Style?", if four uniformed officers were around my seat, I would have some idea of what was going on. I certainly wouldn't be sitting in "duh mode" to only be told later of what took place right there around me, as Michael suggests he was. If Michael's account is realistic -- his response and reaction is not. Nor is his response appropriate now that he has "learned" what he was "allegedly told" is not what took place. One would think if he can't get the words out that he was mistaken, he could at least have removed the inaccurate entry from his blog.
He has done neither.
I'm also still waiting to read about, "Also, maybe tomorrow I'll post about my election-eve rally with Bill Clinton in Florida." (A real election impact by Michael Schiavo, Thu Nov 09, 2006 at 10:40:34 AM PST). Indeed, I would love to read that story by Michael, since I read it was not possible. Not if he was implying it was the Bill Clinton that is the former President of the United States. Will be interesting to see what he says about that if he ever does.
If Michael couldn't get it straight what happened at the Musgrave debate or even if he spent election-eve with former President Bill Clinton -- do you suppose he might have gotten Terri Schiavo's wishes mixed-up as well? (He does claim to have a bad memory from what I read.) Makes one wonder. At least makes me wonder. Whatever...
I'm still waiting for the corrections if not the explanations!
Carrie Hutchens is a former law enforcement officer and a freelance writer who is active in fighting against the death culture movement and the injustices within the judicial and law enforcement systems.
The M.E. will probably say whatever he's told to say. But even if he doesn't, Supervising Deputy District Attorney Vic Stull already said "The law only requires that we prove an approximate cause of death." So if somebody killed her because of the injuries caused in the accident, that's close enough.
Rightly so, but I don't think that's what we choose a health proxy for. The proxy simply stands in for us if we are incapable of making medical decisions. That means overseeing our course of treatment, not (necessarily) ending it. A so-called living will cannot anticipate the future or the state of medical science, but a proxy will be there to guide things in a human way. Makes FAR more sense to me.
Is he saying she was approximately dead? I think he himself is approximately alive and approximately from planet Earth, but not quite.
If the quotation is accurate (which I doubt), he all but ordered Mike to pull the plug. As I said, a frock for brains.
(Especially considering that Terri's parents were 1,000 percent willing to take over her care, and the fact that the so-called husband had abandoned her which in effect should have negated his control over her affairs.)
Many of those leaders (like Sen. Santorum) who stood up in support of this woman ultimately suffered at the ballot box due to the selfish people who said one of two things to themselves.
It was either, "Gee, how dare the government get involved in the personal affairs of these private citizens". OR "How dare the court force me to keep my spouse alive, especially if I didn't love her anymore and especially if she was a physical and financial burden."
Ironically, the government already plays a HUGE role in the lives of ALL couples every day through divorce laws, estate taxes, child custody, and everything else one can think of.

We posted earlier on poor Rebecca and the underwhelming efforts of DSS to protect her. They were too understaffed to help her, but have enough resources and tenacity to cling to ownership of Haleigh Poutre as an object of great value once they were thwarting in killing her.
........................................
One day before little Rebecca Jeanne Riley died, a DSS supervisor approved a surprise visit to the girls home, but it was too late.
That was one of several ill-fated attempts the agencys overburdened workers made to protect the girl, Department of Social Services Commissioner Harry Spence revealed yesterday as he battled back against tough criticism.
Spence painted a picture of a woefully understaffed agency with fewer than two nurses, no staff doctor and oversight of 40,000 children, many requiring foster homes and medical treatment.
Still, he said, DSS social workers did everything they could to protect Rebecca, 4, who died Dec. 13. On Dec. 12, a supervisor approved a surprise visit to her Hull home after repeated attempts to reach her mom, Carolyn Riley, to set up a monthly check-up, he said.
And DSS spokeswoman Denise Monteiro said DSS knew Rebeccas dad, Michael J. Riley, who is charged with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl, had been granted unsupervised visits with his kids in the summer of 2006. That decision was made by a judge, she said, and DSS was not able to reverse it.
Spence said this child did not fall through the cracks nor did Haleigh Poutre fall through the cracks. Poutre is a Westfield girl whose familys DSS history bears chilling similarities to that of Rebecca, whose parents were charged with her murder Tuesday. The Rileys are accused of drugging the girl to death with Clonidine pills, which she was given for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Rebecca's parents have been charged with first-degree murder for allegedly giving her an intentional overdose of Clonidine, a blood pressure medicine for adults that is also used for children diagnosed as hyperactive. Children are diagnosed with mental disorders at earlier ages and routinely prescribed drugs for treatment. After a therapist expressed concern to DSS that Rebecca and her two older siblings were overmedicated, the agency was assured by doctors that they were medicated properly.

The alleged killer dad at the center of a 4-year-old Hull girls horrifying overdose death spent time in the Air Force, is chronically unemployed and sports a pair of tattoos on his back - one depicting a bullet hole.
Newly discovered court documents also provide more details of the shocking sexual molestation case pending against Michael J. Riley, who is also now charged with first-degree murder in his daughter Rebeccas Dec. 13 death.

After doctors misled Department of Social Services caseworkers in the case of a Westfield girl who was almost beaten to death by her foster parents, the Legislature gave the department $1 million for a panel of independent medical advisers.
But the agency hasnt been able to find physicians willing to serve despite six months of trying, Commissioner Harry Spence said yesterday.
Doctors have declined to join because the departments cases are invariably controversial, Spence said. There are also issues of liability, hospital privileges, and (getting access to) medical records, he said.

Thread from wagglebee on stem cells to help heart patients, and once more not coming from embryos.
MADRID, Spain, February 9, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A heart attack victim was treated with stem cells taken from his own fat tissue in a groundbreaking new experiment taking place in Spain this week, Science Daily reported Feb.7.
In a collaborative effort, Dr. Francisco Fernandez-Aviles, Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine and Chief of Cardiology Service at Gregorio Marañón and Dr. Perin, Director of New Interventional Cardiovascular Technology and Director of Stem Cell Center at the Texas Heart Institute at St. Lukes, have undertaken the attempt to use human adipose (fat) tissue as a source of adult stem cells to regenerate damaged heart muscle.

A paraplegic man wearing a soiled hospital gown and a broken colostomy bag was found crawling in a gutter in skid row in Los Angeles on Thursday after allegedly being dumped in the street by a Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center van, police said.
The incident, witnessed by more than two dozen people, was described by police as a particularly outrageous case of "homeless dumping" that has plagued the downtown area.

Thread by GulfBreeze on Rudy Giuliani. Thanks, narses.
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Most of the potential GOP candidates for president fall somewhere along the scale ranging from reliably pro-life to opposing abortion but supporting embryonic stem cell research. Rudy Giuliani falls squarely in the pro-abortion camp but he's now trying to reassure pro-life voters he's not that bad. Giuliani has always been in favor of legalized abortion -- even supporting the grisly partial-birth abortion procedure that kills an unborn child halfway through the birthing process.
On the Fox news program Hannity & Colmes on Monday night he used some pretty strong language against abortion, though he admitted he still is pro-abortion when it comes to whether it should be legal.

Playing tag again...
It's only fair, just about how he transformed the White House when there. A couple old pickups on blocks and the scene would have been complete.
That would be either one nurse, no nurses, a typo or a loony writer.
God only knows what they did to Rebecca. And while we're at it, why did that judge give visitation rights to a man known to have committed sex offenses with a 13-year-old girl?
Right, load a four-year-old with psycho drug cocktails.
>> House Public Health Committee chairman Peter Koutoujian is concerned that children who are victims of abuse are incorrectly diagnosed with mental disorders.
Excellent point.
>> ...Carolyn had sought a restraining order against her husband, Michael, for allegedly slamming their 11-year-old son's head against a pickup truck window.
The same hubby who "allegedly" molested a 13-year-old girl? If somebody "allegedly" strings this guy up by his cojones, the whole neighborhood will breathe a sigh of relief.
You are totally wrong and must be a lover of murder! He wasn't her husband, he had dumped her years ago and had beat her to within inches of death! It was and is a high spot for the Republican Party and always will be. You, I hope I never meet.
ping!
Question. If you beat your wife or knowingly caused a life threatening injury to her, would you be reluctant to call 911 like Micheal did?
