Still Waiting
Dakota Voice ^ | 1/29/2007 | Carrie K. Hutchens

I don't know about anyone else, but I am still waiting for Michael Schiavo to make a correction on his blog about what "actually" took place in Colorado when he went there (to the debate) to supposedly ask Congresswoman Musgrave one question and she and her staff supposedly tried to have him removed. He called it, "My unreal night in Colorado - with radio link" (Thu Oct 26, 2006 at 08:05:14 PM PST). I'll say (from what I read) that it was his "unreal night".

As I said before in "Standing up and Admitting a Mistake: Not Schiavo's Style?",  if four uniformed officers were around my seat, I would have some idea of what was going on. I certainly wouldn't be sitting in "duh mode" to only be told later of what took place right there around me, as Michael suggests he was. If Michael's account is realistic -- his response and reaction is not. Nor is his response appropriate now that he has "learned" what he was "allegedly told" is not what took place. One would think if he can't get the words out that he was mistaken, he could at least have removed the inaccurate entry from his blog.

He has done neither.

I'm also still waiting to read about, "Also, maybe tomorrow I'll post about my election-eve rally with Bill Clinton in Florida." (A real election impact by Michael Schiavo, Thu Nov 09, 2006 at 10:40:34 AM PST).  Indeed, I would love to read that story by Michael, since I read it was not possible. Not if he was implying it was the Bill Clinton that is the former President of the United States. Will be interesting to see what he says about that if he ever does.

If Michael couldn't get it straight what happened at the Musgrave debate or even if he spent election-eve with former President Bill Clinton -- do you suppose he might have gotten Terri Schiavo's wishes mixed-up as well? (He does claim to have a bad memory from what I read.) Makes one wonder. At least makes me wonder. Whatever...

I'm still waiting for the corrections if not the explanations!

>> What is it about insanity? "Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results..." That is the hallmark of communism as it is the hallmark of liberalism, socialism, and warmism.

There is something very human and almost holy about such a childlike faith -- NEXT time, the story will end happily! That they can keep this up through literally hundreds of cruel, backward, failed, murderous socialist states is beyond comprehension. Some airy intellectuals say they know the next faddish socialist state will fail, but it's still more satisfying because it brings "social justice." Idiots! There has never been social justice, and even if you take it as an ideal (itself an appalling idea), Communism is farther away from the ideal than any other system. Communism isn't even "we're all equal, even if we are all equally miserable." There is no equality. It is bosses and slaves. Even the rich bosses are poor by comparison with the West.

It was ever thus. The Soviets in their poorest and most wretched conditions could invite in foreign true believers, give them a guided tour of a collective farm, and send them home more blindly faithful than ever. I had a couple in my extended family go to Cuba as a pilgrimage. They brought back photos of the ancient cars and universal rot. But they never saw it with their eyes and hearts.

It is amazing.

My mother's family went to Cuba every winter (except for during WWII) from the early 1930s until Castro came along. I've seen hundreds of pictures from those vacations and the saddest part is that Cuba was more modern in the 1940s than it is today. They have been to most of the other islands in the Caribbean and they say that none of them begins to compare to Cuba on any level.

Certainly there was a problem with American organized crime there controlling the casinos and resorts and there is little doubt that Batista was a corrupt dictator. However, Batista was a saint compared to Castro and the Mafia was far less corrupt than communism. As you said, they had a thriving economy and would today without communism.

I've got something I'd like to push into Planned Parenthood, and then twist it.

Not so far from here
There's a very lively atmosphere
Ev'rybody's going there this year
And there's a reason
The season opened last July
Ever since the U.S.A went dry
Ev'rybody's going there and I'm going, too
I'm on my way to

Cuba there's where I'm going
Cuba there's where I'll stay

Cuba where wine is flowing
And where dark-eyed Stellas
Light their fellers' panatellas
where all is happy
Cuba where all is gay

Why don't you plan a
Wonderful trip
To Havana
Hop on a ship
And I'll see you in C.U.B.A.

Take a friend's advice
Drinking in a cellar isn't nice
Anybody who has got the price
Should be a Cuban
Have you been longing for the 'smile'
That you haven't had for quite a while?
If you have, then follow me and I'll show the way
I'm on my way to

Cuba there's where I'm going
Cuba there's where I'll stay

>> Jason D. Strickland, 33, of Westfield who is free on $5,000 bail

Haleigh was tortured, abused, pushed repeatedly down the stairs, burned with cigarettes, and beaten into a coma. For this they require a piddly $5,000 bail and let the perp walk.

>> A prize skunk

Where did it get its prize? Was it wearing a ribbon? The only pedigreed skunk show I'm aware is in Washington, D.C. and goes by the name of "Congress."

From the Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation email...

.................................

Week of March 26, 2007 As you may already know, on Saturday, March 31, we will mark the two-year anniversary of Terri's death by dehydration. While this sad date brings the horror of her death into sharper focus, there is not a day that passes that we do not think of Terri and the suffering that she endured at the hands of those who deliberately set out to have her killed.

In the time since Terri's death, Terri's Foundation has been working to develop a national network of resources and support to help families whose loved ones might be in or potentially facing life-threatening situations.

Sadly, there is a steady stream of families who have contacted the Foundation on behalf of loved ones whose lives are endangered. Currently, we are involved in the case of Emilio Gonzales, a 16-month-old baby boy whose life hangs in the balance in a Texas hospital. Emilio's case is making national headlines -- you can read more about it at the links included in this newsletter. This is another tragic case of a family fighting against a hospital that ignores their wishes and doctors who have a "quality of life" attitude that rationalizes their decision to end the life of this precious baby boy.

Unfortunately, the sad fact of the matter is that there exists a dangerous apathy in our country. There are too many people who do not realize the alarming crisis we face. In a growing number of cases, persons who are not in life threatening medical conditions are deemed as having no "quality of life" by those in the medical community, are subsequently "written off" and their life sustaining treatment is terminated. This life sustaining treatment is frequently something as simple as a feeding tube or antibiotics!

Education and awareness are two of the keys to helping people recognize the dangerous climate that exists in our health care system today. While many would prefer not to educate themselves on this issue, the cold reality is that one day this "quality of life" ethic, which says that some lives are not worth living, could very well impact their own families. Knowing that it is out there and being armed against it could well save the life of a loved one.

Fortunately, Terri's Foundation continues to be in a position to fight against this growing problem. We continue to be invited to speak about this issue which provides the important opportunity to spread awareness and educate people to the dangers of the death culture. For example, I recently returned from Mexico City, Mexico. The Mexican people are at a crossroads trying to stop the legalization of not only abortion, but euthanasia as well. The conference at which I spoke was attended by more than 1,500 people and, as is the case among many in the United States, the Mexican people were unaware of the threat against the incapacitated and those with disabilities. It was a great honor to help alert them to this crisis.

As we continue in our quest to share the truth, my family wants to sincerely thank all of our friends for their continued support and prayers. We will never forget Terri and will stay dedicated to fighting against those that threaten the lives of the disabled. Terri and others like her should be a constant reminder to all of us that caring for the disabled is never a burden but is instead an act God's unconditional love.

God Bless,
Bobby Schindler and the Schindler Family

8mm

Remember that Jeb Bush went on all media, tv and radio and said that "he was going to save Terri no matter what." When Jeb did that a lot of people headed to Pinellas Park turned out.

That was the ultimate flip flop and it drove down the numbers who were going to attend. The next day after Jeb said he would save Terri, he robotically reported to the media, "there is nothing I can do." (orders from the white house).

Typo Correction: When Jeb did that a lot of people headed to Pinellas Park TURNED AROUND.

Additionally, the media was reporting there were roadblocks everywhere which hurt turnout. Remember that at one point, they said you either go or stay. If you go, you cannot get back in the area. They played so many gestapo games with everyone from the Schindlers on down.

No earthly heroes, no Cavalry, no bugles, were to arrive.

That day Monsignor Malanowski gave a powerful homily in the trampled grass outside the gates, after coming from one of the last visits to Terri, the message of Easter of one of hope, joy, and triumph. Nothing earthly, all from Heaven...

And behind the view of the cameras they were happily rounding up and towing cars belonging to those at the vigil, doing everything in their power to harrass without being noticed.

And as we know so well, they tracked people who left the area to follow and harrass outside of the area.
