Arabs Say New Muslim Podium on Temple Mount 'Proof' of Arab Title

(IsraelNN.com) Muslims are to install a new podium in the Al Aksa Mosque on the Temple Mount Thursday, and clerics have said the ceremony will kick off a campaign to "prove" that the holy site belongs to Muslims and not to Jews.

"This historic occasion proves that the extremist Jews will never achieve their goals of taking over the [Temple Mount.] It shows that we are much closer to liberating the Al Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem from Israeli occupation," Waqf chief Adnan Husseini told WorldNetDaily.

Muslim clerics claim the podium will be installed exactly where the Muslim prophet Mohamed went to heaven on his horse, which was tied to the Western Wall (Kotel), the holy Jewish site that Muslims state was a place to park horses.

Jordan and Saudi Arabia paid for the new podium, which took four years to build.

wondering if wiping out Jewish history and religious artifacts is a secret "concession" by Foggy Bottom to the arabs as part of the "road map".

MoeHamHead never set foot in Jerusalem.... he only dreamed that he did.....

Of course the Zionists will just install a surround sound system and then claim precedence over a mere podium.

Uh - then who exactly did the Romans oust from the Temple if not the Jews?

The Romans will not take kindly to having someone say they made a mistake....took a wrong turn in the road...and ended up in Jerusalem and ousted the wrong people. Of course, there was no GPS at the time.

Ditto the Babylonians.

Gee, I think I'll go install a podium in my neighor's yard. I've always wanted a bigger lot, and this seems like an easy way to get some extra ground.

Only problem is, moohamid (sbuh) was never in Jerusalem. He had a drug-induced dream that he was at the most remote holy place and the muslims subsequently "decided" that it must Jerusalem. It certainly is not explicitly a part of the quran.

Israel made what may turn out to be a fatal mistake in giving the barbarians even the illusion of control over the Temple Mount. Where that has led is not surprising in the slightest.
Now the Jews are about to compound the error, instead of using this abuse as the final straw, and asserting unequivocally sovereign jurisdiction over all of its territory.

There comes a point, where there is a fatal organic disease, where the choice must be made to take radical action to purge the pathology:, surgery, radiation, whatever it takes.

I have never seen an explanation, an analysis, of the logic that caused the Jews to allow muslim jurisdiction over the Temple Mount. Whatever the presuure was (I suspect political, from both US and Britain) that was then, this is now. Time to bite the bullet, cure the disease, whatever it takes, surgery... radiation... whatever!

I realize that this is sarcasm, but it is worth noting that the epileptic retard wasn't even born until 500 years after the more recent of those two events.
Needless to say, his religion, islam, didn't exist either.

Your neighbors are very recent squatters, remember that, and round up all your relatives to swear to it. Also, go through the neighbor's house - particularly the cellar - and remove everything that ever looked like your neighbors didn't just move in last week.

"Biting the bullet" is a good idea, if you have the bullet. However, if the bullet is being supplied by a friend (like the USA), then one has to listen to that friend and especially if that friend is just about the only important friend one has in the entire world.

Because, if that friend doesn't like what you do and doesn't give you any more bullets you won't only lose the Temple Mount, one would lose one's entire country and every precious soul in it.

Doesn't pay to anger important friends.

Especially when you are one of the smallest countries in the world (Israel is the size of New Jersey) and is surrounded by enemies who command over a billion people who control a vast amount of the world's wealth.

The results of both options are likely to be the same; it's simply a matter of which takes longer.
The choice then becomes one of, do I want to disappear actively trying to destroy my enemy? Or slowly and painfully fading into history to placate a doubtful "friend"?

Israel has no good choices, does it?

Since I don't live in Israel, and therefore I don't have to live with the results of those choices, I hesitate to prescribe a course of action for Israel.

They are closer to the situation and they have to live with the results....therefore, while I pray for them, I don't instruct them.

Fair enough.
The final choice is theirs, and it may comfort them to know that, whatever their final choice is, many people worldwide can see clearly the impossible position in which she has been consciously placed. By friends (?) who should have known better.

****** impossible position in which she (israel) has been consciously placed***

This is neither new nor a first. Jews have historically been placed in impossible positions. Don't be here, don't be there - just don't be.

Europeans have believed and treated Jews as outsiders - but that's not true. Jews have lived in European countries for almost two thousand years. Since groups of Europeans have come and gone - displacing one another (Goths, Visigoths, Celts, Slavs, all the Germanic tribes, Picts, Norsemen, etc.) Jews have actually been "in place" longer than some of the so called indigenous Europeans.

There has been a great deal of inermarriage as well as melding of people through conversion to Christianity. It is estimated that in modern day Spain fully 85% of Spaniards have Jewish ancestors. There was also tremendous intermarriage and conversion in Germany (ironic isn't it?) At one time one third of the population of Warsaw was Jewish. Salonika was majority Jewish until the Nazis wiped out the Jewish community that had lived there since Biblical times and especially since the Expulsion from Spain in 1492.

So this idea that there has been a wall of separation between Jews and other Europeans is a fabrication of the imagination. It is no accident that European Jews look European - many are blondes with blue eyes.

Yet this idea of "outsiderness" persists and has just been transferred from the Jews as a group/religion to the State of Israel as a country.

It's still the same old line:

Don't be here, don't be there - just don't be.

....................................................

However, the impossible situation in which Israel is placed is the same position in which we are placing ourselves.

Don't speak of who is enemy.

Don't accuse the enemy of wanting to kill us.

Don't warn off the enemy.

Apologize endlessly for any and all "profiling." Well, if you can't speak of the enemy and aren't allowed to recognize the enemy - guess what? You can't defend against the enemy.

In the second world war everyone recognized what the Japanese enemy looked like. When we erred - we erred on the side of winning. Mistakes were made, but they were the mistakes on the side of survival.

In this war on terror we are often our own worst enemies.

So, we demand the same of Israel - even if she disagrees with us she has no choice but to placate this great friend who supplies the bullets.

However, in all honesty it has to be said that Israel also suffers from the PC angst of the leftwing which infects our own body politic - and will eventually cause the demise of the body. It's the rot within.

And now the rot within controls Congress and we can see the results shaping up.

Things like wishing the new commanding general "G-D speed" but threaten him by not endorsing the troops he says he needs, underminging the morale of the soldiers he leads, and threatening to take away the money for the bullets.

Between the rot within and the threat from without - the future looks dim for both Israel and the United States.
