That is pretty hilarious that you state the "GOP Platform" opposes amnesty, when the party's leader (Bush) supports it.
It's not funny. It's sad.
Bush's immigration policies and views are more in line with the Democrat Party Platform than the Republican Party Platform. I learned this when I was researching both platforms to make the case against Giuliani.
In a thread a few days ago, I posted a Party Platform plank on illegal immigration and asked the biggest Rudy-Rooter on this forum to tell me if that was Giuliani's position. She said "Yes" and posted a quote from Giuliani that echoed the Party Platform excerpt that I'd posted. Then I revealed that the Party Platform that I was excerpting was the DEMOCRAT Party Platform. The sound heard after that was a dozen Rudy-Rooter Rats scurrying away from that post.
The bottom line is that Bush and Giuliani hold immigration views that are counter to the majority of Republicans, to most congressional Republicans, and to the Party Platform.
