People would think it was a promotional and maybe steal them? Stadiums are swept before games so if it were to happen they would be found before the fans were even allowed in.

It was a simple marketing thing. 5 brain cells to rub together should have sufficed for Boston officials to ascertain that this was not a threat -- the other cities where these things were placed didn't go into hysterics.
ATHF is a cartoon. A low-brow, funny cartoon, nothing more. By the day Boston's officials seem determined to prove that they fit the same classification.
