I don't understand how some people can call him cowardly. He is of the last of dying breed of Senators in the US that have served in the Armed Forces unlike Cheney who "had other things to do". This individual has been through a lot of hell as a POW in Vietnam for 5 years. He was tortured endlessly but he refused to sign traitorous confessions. He was even given an opportunity to be exchanged and let go but he refused and decided to stay with his buddies. That says a lot about character. How many of you can attest to that kind of courage. He received the Silver and Bronze Star which are the 3rd and 4th highest honors in this country. This is one individual who knows what it's like to be an assymetrical war, the same kind of war that was Vietnam. as far as temper problems goes? Well shit man, you think that experience as a POW didn't scar him for life?

If McCain is the only person you listen to you may think he is a hero. He will tell you that time and time again. When you look at the facts though you find a different story. He gave the cong all the information he had that they wanted. He was given preferential treatment for the information.
What makes anyone think he is a hero? A hero is someone who does something courageous willingly. He was shot down, but that does not make him a hero. He did not willingly get shot down. After being shot down he did nothing remotely courageous.
