Kristinn Taylor the President of the DC Chapter of Free Republic kristinn@bellatlantic.net will be getting a permit for a counter protest on March 17th, 07 in Washington DC...They will set up along the route of the Anti-War Protestors, and we from the "Gathering of Eagles" will be under their permit umbrella. When we are satisfied the Wall is secure and the Park Police have everything under control we can march to where the counter protest will take place to show our support of our troops in the field.
I have also talked to Jeff White, PA, State Council, Vietnam Veterans of America, who has sent out 1500 e-mails. And he has also notified the Gold Star Mothers, and Modern Day Veterans those who have served after 1990.
This morning I also talked to Artie Muller - National Executive Director - of Rolling Thunder, he wants all the information on the "Gathering of Eagles". He has not committed yet, but we can hope.
UPDATE From the desk of ViperAsh50:
We want to send a different message than the "anti-war/anti-America" surrender crowd, so we should be clearly set apart from them.
Please hold off on the red armband, which is the symbol of international socialism. Ted Sampley is designing a US Flag-type elasticized armband that will be made available. (Yay Ted!)
SUGGESTIONS:
For those that will arrive Friday, please consider joining us at Walter Reed Army Medical Center at 7:00. The DC Chapter has held a support the troops rally at the gates of Walter Reed every Friday since March 30, 2005. Come join the fun as we honor our heroes! You may have the opportunity to meet a few of these outstanding men and women, as they frequently come out to say hello!
Post the related threads on your state boards to generate interest in attending.
Make up a pdf flyer and email it to every conservative blog, website, veterans organization and Republican Party club you can find.
*** See usmcobras moving flyer at post #146!!!
*** Freemas post #167 would make a beautiful flyer and/or poster.
*** Another great flyer idea by usmcobra.
If any of you are going to CPAC, please mention this to the convention. It could help us with recruiting people to come to the counter protest, and the attendees could spread the word back home.

I created a "RESOURCE LINK" ping list from those commenting on Thunder90s thread "Counter ANSWER march on the Pentagon on March 17th" and the usual suspects from the greater DC area.
The purpose of this thread will be to pool our resources and ideas to counter the attempted take-over of our nations capital and foreign policy.
In the words of an OIF Veteran January 27th:
If you wish to be added to or removed from this ping list please FReepmail me.
I don't think I can come. That's my spring break week and I have to go back to the orthopedist then. I might have to start physical therapy. :(
What will they do at The Wall on March 17th, if nobody is there to tell them, "Hell No!"
The Lone Sailor
The "Silent Sentinel" - standing watch over the Granite Sea at the Navy Memorial in Washington DC...
As part of the casting process, the bronze for The Lone Sailor was mixed with artifacts from eight U. S. Navy ships, provided by the curator for the Navy in the Naval Historical Center at the Washington Navy Yard. The ships span the Navy's history, yielding small pieces of copper sheeting, spikes, hammock hooks and other fragments from the post-revolutionary frigates Constitution (``Old Ironsides'') and Constellation; the steamer Hartford, flagship of Admiral David G. Farragut in the Civil War era; the battleship USS Maine; the iron-hulled steamer/sailing ship USS Ranger; the World War II-era cruiser USS Biloxi and aircraft carrier USS Hancock, and the nuclear-powered submarine USS Seawolf. One last addition was a personal decoration from today's Navy, one given to sailors in war and peace, the National Defense Service Medal. These bits of metal are now part of the Lone Sailor.
Kristinn Taylor President? When did that happen?
The DC Chapter only has two leadership positions:
Ringleader and War Lord
