You really need to get something straight here. You don't need to worry about ME making something of it. You need to worry about the DEMS making something of it.
And .. so what if he's running for president .. I'm sure it never entered his mind that people would hold dressing up for a charity event against him.
Quite frankly, that's the ENTIRE PROBLEM HERE. He (and you, apparently) don't seem to grasp that being pro-choice, anti-gun, pro-amnesty, pro-gay rights and a cross-dresser to boot might not play well in Reddest America. After all, all that is acceptable in New York City.
But he ain't running for mayor now. HE HAS TO WIN OVER THE ENTIRE COUNTRY. INCLUDING A WHOLE BUNCH OF SOCIAL CONSERVATIVES. And what happens in New York .. ain't gonna stay in New York once the Dems get going.
Of course he's not running for mayor NOW!
He didn't do this event NOW!! He did it years ago!!! Hello!!!! That's the point I've been trying to make for hours now but it doesn't seem to be getting through.
And .. I don't think middle America is as hard-nosed about a charity event as you seem to think.
I thought the video was hillarious .. I watched it a couple of times. I just don't think this has any "gotcha" to it.
If Rudy is the candidate, the spectre of the Hildabeast as POTUS will pale in the face of an onslaught of the alternative: a guy in drag.
It will cost him votes, votes which will either flee to a third party or just stay home, and could cost the GOP the White House.
Couple that with the other issues of abortion, 'gay rights', and gun control, and the 'big tent' will suffer a serious exodus of votes, despite everyone wanting to defeat Hillary.
Rudy has done well with New York City, and doubtless would be good in a cabinet level position, but there are problems with the POTUS slot. Consider that Newt has had a similar marriage background, and that in the GOP USA poll and the one on this website, polls consistently at double the support Rudy has. The difference is on other issues.
