If the populace were intelligent, they'd come to conservative views on their own.

I disagree here. Reasonable people can look at the same facts and situations, and come to different conclusions.

Reasonable people can look at the same facts and situations, and come to different conclusions.

Reasonable people can disagree on, say, which toppings are best on a pizza. Reasonable people cannot disagree about things like whether the Constitution protects people's right to free speech or gun ownership, because there is only one reasonable position.
