Giuliani Is Cautious (indecisive?) as He Weighs ’08 Decision
NY Times ^ | SAM ROBERTS

Posted on 01/27/2007 2:26:06 PM PST by narses

Rudolph W. Giuliani, who developed a national reputation for decisive and reassuring leadership after 9/11, now faces the odd challenge of having to reassure some supporters that he can be decisive about a very different issue: running for president. Even as his fellow Republican John McCain and fellow New Yorker Hillary Rodham Clinton have all but formally declared their candidacies, Mr. Giuliani has proceeded more cautiously.

Try not to be so sanctimonious. I know it's hard. But at least give the appearance of not being such a hard a$$.

LOL, when it comes to life and values, I am what I am. Liberals hate that. So be it.

Thank you for the compliment. And I harbor no ill feelings toward you and I'm glad to know that we can respectfully disagree. We are, like you said, in the end on the same side. I think Duncan Hunter would make a good President but at least in my honest opinion I just don't believe he can win the general. I think, right now and things could change particularly if, I pray, the President's new Iraq strategy is successful, that McCain and Giuliani are the only ones that can win the general. But like I said, maybe things will change between now and next year and I might think differently but not at this point.

"Dead being the operative word."

Yep, that describes your brain perfectly. I wasn't going to say it but since you did I will :)

Your reference to Rudy supporting constructionalist judges come from somebody's blog, for Gods sake.

Rudy supposedly made this comment while playing to the room at a candidate for Senate dinner in God forsaken Minnesota.

When Rudy sits down and tells some reporters from accredited news outlets that he believes in conservative constructionalist judges, then I'll start to believe.

"When Rudy sits down and tells some reporters from accredited news outlets that he believes in conservative constructionalist judges, then I'll start to believe."

He has, on Hannity and Colmes. He praised the President for picking Roberts and Alito and said Scalia was his favorite justice.

LOL - you're funny. Rudy is pro-choice and likes gays. Oh the horror :-)

You didn't say - how do you feel you're doing so far in preventing abortions? That's your main goal, right? How you doing cracking down on homosexuality?

Good post.

Maybe I could be a little nicer. Though it is quite hard to be nice to liberals and their supporters.

Why do I think if Rudy was quick to decide - you would criticize him for that? :-)

Who are you supporting?

You are free to support whoever you like. There will be those who support Rudy. Others will support Romney. Some McCain - some Hunter. That's life.

Rudy is NOT a social conservative. Alan Keyes is, though. You may want to support Alan :-)

You start being nicer by ceasing to wrongly call Rudy supporters liberals :)

That was the context. I don't have a transcript. It was about a year ago when Alito was confirmed. You can chose to take my word for it or not. I know Sean Hannity likes Rudy and has said he would support him for President.
