Nobody will say it, but many are thinking it:

"Maybe for $7.25 I can get a young white guy, someone who looks decent and talks nice."

"Our analysis shows that this increase in the minimum wage would have a significant positive impact on African American families and communities," said Ralph Everett, president and CEO of the Joint Center, a Washington-based think tank.

As I've said many times, the legislation that would have the most positive effect on minimum wage would be legislation that forces deportation of illegal aliens and the fortification of our borders. Nothing spells "low wages" like the effects of a massive importation of cheap labor.

As an added bonus, deportation would lessen the financial load on our schools, city services, hospitals and other "free" goods and services that the illegals now enjoy at the taxpayer's expense.

No, it actually hurts everyone (except those who benefit from inflation). The worst hurt goes to the very lowest on the totem pole; they're SOL.

If the reasoning in this article were accurate it would help everyone who earned minimum wage regardless of color.

However, this article is racist written by stooges under the boot of union liberals. The victims will be poor, very-low skilled individuals who are willing to work but will now not find it because their human capital is priced between the old and the new minimum wages. There are a huge number of young black males in this group.

For these authors to never once mention unemployment consequences is sheer nonsense.

If the teens that hold most of the minimum wage paying jobs could just get enough per hour to live on (a living wage) then they could forget about going to college or working towards something better. Why bother? In 40 years we could expect the cashiers at Burger King to be wearing "45 years of service" badges. Woo hoo! What a life! Way to go leftist fools.

Of course that's still just a dream for now. First the evil Right has to be dealt with. Then we can have TRUE fairness and "social justice".

It still won't help when ILLEGALS are paid far below the minimum and the democrats refuse to vote on tougher fine enforcement of employers who use them. It will cause employers to look to hire ILLEGALS instead.

I have read that union wages are tied to a minimum wage hike; that is...those union workers making well OVER minimum wage will also get a significant wage hike because they automatically get a salary increase according to law when minimum wage is raised.

True?

"help everyone?"

excellent point. Saying a pay raise would help someone is like saying being healthier is good for you. This article i states the obvious. More money is good for EVERYBODY!!!.

Abolish the minimum wage. If I only wanted to pay a penny an hour, and I can find someone desperate enough to take it, it is between me and them...not me, them, and Uncle Nancy.

Like the Liberals crying about Nike and Adidas plants overseas...they would rather see people making 0% of 7.15 an hour than 100% of a dollar a day.

If you only qualify for the minimum wage, then you need to go get some job skills and education. That is usually a starting wage for teens that are on their first job.
