prayer bump
From my aunt and uncle
Carrie continues to show improvement, but slowly. We are both impressed by the quality of the nurses who take care of Carrie. They are a very caring group. Some love her as if she were their daughter. They read the newspaper, books, Bible, etc. to her. They talk to her continually, exercise her, and keep her looking beautiful and clean.
Now a speech therapist comes to work with her swallowing. We think he's good and good for her. He will come again next Wednesday. M wants to videotape the Physical Therapist on Tuesday to show all the caretakers just what is done that is what she wants them to do for Carrie.
One nurse came to get us to see Carrie watching a DVD player playing "A Night At the Museum". She really was watching that. The nurse had it near so Carrie could watch it. We saw her eyes move. Great!
That same nurse shined a small flashlight in Carrie's eyes and she blinked. Which again is good news.
MJ, another nurse, brought some sweet peas from her garden and put them right up to Carrie's nose -- she wrinkled up her nose at the scent.
I am very encouraged by all these improvements and it heartens me to put my shoulder to the wheel to keep praying for Carrie's full restoration. Wow!
For all of you who have been standing with Carrie, drawing her through to keep her in life and now, to move her forward in her healing, THANK YOU!
