As much as I loathe this woman, it appears that most of this email is not true. Only the statements by the civilian contractor have been affirmed. I think the long-running controversy over that particular email matters not to many of us. (Should we ALSO forgive someone for beating his wife, merely because he 'PROVES' to us that the allegations of his beating his DOG were less than accurate???)

'The Truth', as described by the material found at your first link, appears, by itself, to be more than adequate to confirm what we all thought of her back then, for her "aid-or-comfort-to-to-enemy"... I haven't changed MY opinion, and I doubt that many other Vietnam vets have...(...although I'm SURE they'd be more than happy to let me know if I'm wrong...)

You are correct that many of the accounts reported are untrue and perhaps reactionary in light of Hanoi Jane's allowing herself to be used by the enemy for propaganda purposes. The NVN military captors presented something palatable to a far left sympathizer by parading POWs before her, cleaned up and fed for the moment. Those men had their wits about them, enduring pitiless suffering and humiliation with determination in the face of their hopeless situation and Fonda was witless and uncaring to their plight.

Hanoi Jane left the visit with the POWs to attend photo ops and a banquet, honoring her for her stand against her countrymen while they were returned to solitary cells and brutal treatment with dashed hopes that a message would get home. The POWs managed as best they could to honor the unofficial code of conduct for prisoners of war, one that is taught briefly but learned through extreme hardship. Whatever misguided notions of superior morality Hanoi Jane entertained and continues to entertain now are done in safety and prosperity provided by those she willingly tortured by her betrayal and guile.

I had not read the hoax emails so my opinion of JaneF is not based on that. She betrayed our troops and our nation and caused great pain that many still carry..

She is doing it all over again...but this time no visits to the juhadist's bomb factories or training camps , I notice..
Perhaps they could invite her to a beheading.
