Billie Sol Estes may have much to add to the criminality of LBJ. Estes used much of the money he made from his agricultural scams for LBJ's election funds. LBJ knew Estes and leaned heavily upon him for funding for the 1960 election. When Estes became a liability for the 1964 election for LBJ, Johnson provided a lawyer for Estes that just about sold him down the river, all the time telling Estes that he would be rewarded for his silence concerning his illegal money laundering toward LBJ. Estes feared LBJ and just about said that if he were to mention any of his dealings with the Johnsons, he would be a dead man.

Oh, I don't doubt that Lyndon could have had his people find a guy who would do one of his other people...I just doubt that he would have done Jacko...he was awed by Jacko and Jacko's dad and Jacko's money
The whole issue of his wife's ownership of the media interests was still a sham...
