Yaawwnn......when are they ever gonna see that it just might be possible for a bitter, little nobody to take down the most powerful leader on earth.....right under their noses? We finally made it to Dealy Plaza after all these years, and we were astonished at how small an area it was.......nothing like on film where it looks like such a far distance from Oswald's sniper's nest to the street.

Years ago, when Tom Foley was speaker of the house, I pulled up to a stop light...and there was the third most powerful person in the country sitting in a car right next to me. Now, when there was some kind of huge event, he always showed up with a bit of an entourage, so I just sort of assumed that he always traveled like that...but no...he and another guy, chit chatting in the SUV next to me.

While the President has an entourage, and we're much more careful since the Kennedy assassination, President's are still very vulnerable. When Nixon was running for reelection, he flew into our small town on AF1. Almost the entire town went out to meet him. There was no special security of any kind to get onto the tarmac. First come, first serve. He shook folks hands along the half inch rope line that protected him from us. He had an SS detail, but that's it. A lone crackpot could have done terrible damage.

I've always thought this hyper-conspiracy stuff is just a hedge to help us "feel" that our leaders and our country aren't nearly as vulnerable as they are. They are basically sitting ducks. Despite how it might look in the movies.
