The Federal Government will create a basic deduction of $15,000 a year for a family and $7500 for an individual who buys their own insurance on the market, rather than getting it through their employer.
It's a deduction of not only income, but also from payroll taxes. It's a pretty big cut - and a brilliant idea.
Individuals will be able to write off private health care costs at at the expense(tax)of small business/corps having to pay higher costs for providing health care for their employees. They want tax businesses to subsidize a tax write off for individual/private plans.
