They are not judges. But why not give him credit for the positives along with criticism for the failures?

Ok. Justices. And I was there when they were sworn in and very much a part of the battle to get them there.

More than happy to give credit to him for that. But there has been a fight on that issue for six years that many of us have worked night and day on -- and on the brink, when at anytime another Justice could step down....opening up perhaps the most important fight for the heart and soul of the Court EVER...there will not be any mention of judges OR justices in this SOTU for the first time in this Administration.

Instead, tomorrow, Leahy will parade through a bunch of district court nominees -- no circuit court nominees - and we will meekly sit here and say "thank you sir, may I have another" and not even ATTEMPT to say -- Uh, no, gentlemen, you will NOT abuse these nominees and if you do not put these nominees through with fair consideration, all work in the Senate will come to a screeching halt.

No such luck.

Every issue we care about as conservatives -- every issue -- either starts or ends in the courts. Who wears those black robes is of the utmost importance. To bow to the left now is to condemn the third, all important vacancy on the Supreme Court to be filled by another Souter....or worse. One guy in a robe with the stroke of a pen can undo any other precious policy passed through any elected body or voted on by any voter. To ignore this issue now is foolish.

Thank you.

Bush could be perfect in every way and many of these people would turn on him (and have)over a single issue.

We should congratulate them for for helping to give us a Democratic Congress.
