lol!
That's good news freema, surprising but good news.
I was reading the thread and came to your post, never saw the ping, good omen. :-)
Wow, that's a big deduction.
Ha! Enough of the kool-aid please. Did we see the same speech? I thought the speech was so-so, altho it got better concerning the WOT and the tribute to that soldier was definitely a Reaganesque moment for me, the delivery however, a typical Bush speech, a great President, hardly, a great Christian, most definitely NOT. However considering the current alternatives I agree we could do a whole lot worse.
Yes, he certainly is an avowed Bush Hater and I am an avowed Olbermann hater....never watch him. I flip through the channels and try to find out what dumb things are going on but can't watch more than two minutes or I would throw up!!
I refuse! LOL
Oh..yes...I want to send a big THANK YOU...to Sen. Warner for giving the friggin Dems more ammunition to use today...arrrrrrrrghhhhhhh
absolutely she does!
so does Hildebeast!
that is why they are evil....they get it....and then are still in it just for themselves.
Nothing funnier than people who SAY they are leaving, but then keep posting.
That's because I am now getting some pleasure out of irritation value. Just want to stick around a bit longer (just a bit) to point out how little was said on this thread about the actual contents of the speech, and how much that was said was just banter. But each to their own.
IIUC, Webb wrote his response. Seems to me that raising the Korea example to justify withdrawal was a huge mistake that the GOP should pounce all over. Now that N. Korea has become the first rogue state to acquire nuke weapons, one of the biggest proliferation threats, and a loose cannon capable of nuke blackmail against Japan (and shortly our west coast) that Korea solution doesn't appear to have worked out so well. Do we want to replicate that in Iraq, where if we leave half the country effectively becomes Iran right as they are about to acquire nukes?
President Reagan had TERRIBLE poll numbers during his second term.
You would rather that Kerry was president, I guess.
bttt
Peru? I thought we were talking about Mexico?
"Charlie Gibson said the third highest search on Google tonight (after the basketball player, and Baby Einstein) was earmarks. Could the American Public be waking up?"
LOL..unless 'Islamic terrorists' becomes even the twentieth highest 'google' in America....we are doomed!!
That was the senate plan. Bush never said he supported that plan, he was hoping the house would fix it in conference, but the house punted (partly because of the "no compromise" wing led by tancredo) and mistakenly thought they could ride the wave of anti-illegal hysteria to a majority.
Oops. Now we will get amnesty, unless Bush vetos, and idon't know if he cares enough to do so, but I'm praying for him.
Ugh...Weasly Clark and Alan Colmes talking about what a great job Webb did in his speech!!!
You watch..Webb will get a big head and think HE should run for POTUS!!
so right....but most americans are more interested in American Idol.
Yes, it is and it's WONDERFUL; but a whole lot of FREEPERS are against it. Go figure.......
Mylife, I worked for nearly a year in the utilization review department of a very large hospital. Many times, the insurance companies are already on the phone before the patient has been admitted, demanding justification for all procedures, length of stay, etcetera. If they don't get their reviews (from the R.N. case managers) in time, they start threatening to not pay and so forth. It's a brutal, fast-paced department. But these are the people looking out for the patient and the facility at the same time.
My job was to phone the insurance company to confirm the patient's coverage, and then to obtain authorization for services to be performed. Even PPOs require auths for many services, procedures, medical equipment, etc.
So, it's basically patient and provider versus insurance. Now, as the President said tonight, the patient and doctor together are the best ones to make health care decisions, thereby indicating the nuisance that insurance can be.
Although, many are quite happy with the HMO of their choice and benefit greatly financially once they learn how to use the plan's services. I'm working for a large HMO now.
