She could have gathered 2000 screaming, sigh waving supporters on the Capitol steps, balloons, a band, etc. Could have been a huge hoop de do! CNN, FNC and others would have covered it live, etc. As it was, nothing! In the words of one senior editor, “She mailed it in!”

I think everyone on this board knows why she didn't announce it publicly. (Thank God, for FR and the DC Chapter)

Hillary will get a free positive drumbeat from the networks from now until the day she tells them to stop, now that she has declared.

Timing, in this case, matters not at all.

January 20 is Inauguration Day in the USA. The date is probably for a movie she has planned. gag

So she should run it as an ad during the Superbowl?

I think she didn't have the guts to do it the right way. Has anyone ever seen her in an impromptu interview? Without staged questions, an coaching, she's an empty (black crusty) suit.

I think she went out early against her advisor's advice for the following reasons.

1. Obama sucking up all the Demo oxygen
2. Money men suddenly busy
3. No money until she declares.

I don't know when the Sunday shows are taped, but I suspect it is Saturday morning. She may have missed the cut off for this week. We will see.

All good points... but after what happened on Nov. 7... this nation ain't thinking too clearly right about now and sane'n'sober reasoning don't amount to a hill o' sh*t.

How about the story about the summer foiliage outside the window in the background? This was supposed to be a recent decision, right? She fully intended to serve her full term in the Senate when she ran. Let's see, was the spot filmed before she stood for re-election?

Call me nuts, but I think she is more concerned about Bill Richardson's announcement than anyone elses this week. Of all the Rats, he has the most appeal.

This is correct--she should have announced her candidacy at 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2008. That is, if she had the best interests of the country at heart.

193 nations in the world, and she wants to be President of our country. Why couldn't she set her sights on one of the other countries?

I can help, Hillary's campaign slogan ... "Elect me, get another 9/11 for free". Snappy, got a nice ring to it.

"Next, she has based her campaign on “Stopping Bush.”"

Ohmigawd!! The presidential term limits will stop Bush. Talk about fighting the last war! Maybe there's a place for the Dick Morrisses and Carl Roves of the world after all.

Mark Halperin at ABC is gushing over her announcement, but everyone else is saying “Huh?”

That's funny, and Halperin flat out admitted that the news rooms are full of liberal bias during a Hugh Hewitt interview.

I don't think this was a panic mistake, though. She's too cold and calculating for that. There must be some reason she wants to ease into the race quietly, on a weekend, like this. Maybe to show that she's just a regular, for the people guy, and not doing it for the recognition. Build it from quiet to crescendo.

Whatever the reason, it ain't for the right reasons.

I think the true PTB used Obama to flush Hillary out of hiding. With two years to go, she doesn't need to build up name recognition as most of them do when they declare, she needs to hide her flaws which will be more evident.

It's ok to play the female in distress with Lazio walking to her podium, but that won't fly when you control the world's biggest military.

Whoever is behind the true choice the dems really want running is behind Obama's celebrity to push Hillary front and center way too early.

And make believe she doesn't know it.
