It was a freak storm. It happened on Oct. 12th, waaaaaaaaay early even for up here in Western New York. The trees were in full leaf, and the weight of the snow on the leaves caused the trees to crack and go blam. Who would have thunk it? We thought we were hearing gunshots from every direction, then when we heard the crashes we knew it was trees falling all around us. Almost every street in the large town was impassable because of the trees in the streets.
