I dislike clicking on the NYslimes and giving them a hit. What's the purpose of this article, if I may ask?

I bought a three bedroom condo with almost 1500 sq ft for less than those listed in the
New York Times. Those are either smallish or the condo fees are steep and maybe way too many amenities.

There, that's more like it.

For $350,000 I'd sell my Oceanfront building lot on the West Coast of Washington state.
The view is stunning.

The only good investment I ever made was purchasing a 2 bedroom 1 bath 810 sq ft cabin in South Lake Tahoe in 1989. Got it for 41k.
The payments are very small, taxes are too. I put it on the market then changed my mind in 2005, but not before I had an several offers, the highest was for 349K.
It is not worth as much today, down about 20K, but it doesn't matter because I love it up there in the spring and summer and will keep it until I can't make the drive up there any longer.

In 1971 I paid $22,000 for my first condo - 800 sq. ft, 2 BR, in Placentia, CA (Orange County).

Ha ha ha ha ha ha. This is funny. I'm not going to tell you what a small condo would cost you here on Maui. Guess. I'm building a fence on a ocean front property in Kihei right now. The lot was 13 million and the house is about 7 million. The fence is going to be about 22,000 dollars. (bamboo) Of course if you don't have that kind of money you can buy a condo with no view of the ocean for 600 thousand and up.
