Kucinich to push for Media Reform

U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich said he would push for media reform as chairman of a new House subcommittee focusing on Federal Communications Commission issues.

Kucinich, D-Ohio, and a presidential candidate, said the new Domestic Policy Subcommittee of the House Government Reform Committee would focus on issues such as net neutrality and major telecommunications mergers, Radio Industry News said. Kucinich outlined the subcommittee and its responsibilities during a recent media reform conference in Memphis.

The panel also would consider Fairness Doctrine, eliminated in 1987, which had required broadcasters to present controversial topics in a fair and honest manner.

"We know the media has become the servant of a very narrow corporate agenda" Kucinich said during the Tennessee conference. "We are now in a position to move a progressive agenda to where it is visible."

There's nothing significant that I can see in using this locale for holding this conference, other than perhaps these creeps liked Memphis because they wouldn't be recognized by the general public. LOL.

This liberal "media-reform" plan, is probably one of the most evil things I have encountered. The liberals already control the media... You'd think with all the anti-war, Bush-hating garbage on nearly all TV channels and newspapers, they would sit back and enjoy the fruits of their propaganda... But NO! They want to kill ALL contrary views. These idiots are certifiable STALINISTS and FASCISTS!

Of course they do! They can't win the debate, so they kill any other view points. But these media outlets are easily destroyed! You kill their funding, you kill their ability to communicate! Katie Couric is getting $25 million. Where does the money come from? Commercials! If conservatives would organize a boycott of all advertizers on the main stream media, cancel all newspapers and magazines subscriptions, they would be defunded and as a result loose their voice! Advertizers know that they cannot afford to alienate over 50% of their buyers, and not advertizing on the CBS Evening news which really has no viewers anyways, sends the message to the main stream media, that enough is enough!

BOYCOTT MSM ADVERTIZERS! USE YOUR GREEN TO EXTERMINATE THE MAINSTREAM!

The Fairness Doctrine was placed in the 1940's.

And does not apply today because there is not a Racist Democrat party
to oppose it. ????

Nevermind.

Yup. We did hear it from certain quarters that this would be "good" for conservatism and "good" for the country.

One of the retorts was "No...it is not good. The damage those people can do once they have control of the reins is significant."

And Rush has consistently said that when they do have power, you WILL see things like the Fairness Act, because for them, that is their only way to go head to head with the exchange of free ideas...by squashing them.

Sometimes I hate it when Rush is right.
