"Israel has dropped their pants and grabbed their ankles," says a spokesman who spoke only on the condition of anonymity. "It is like all other historic peace accords: it gives us more time to figure out how to annihilate Israel, and in the meantime we get to, well, you know." Film at 11.

Hmmm ... I wonder if the agreement is along the lines of Syria promising to lay low when we go after Iran, nicely packaged up in diplomatic speak.

Nah -- that would be to reasonable. Those lying Jihadists have sworn an oath to never deal honestly with the Civilized World, especially with the Jews.

As part of the agreement on principles, Israel will withdraw from the Golan Heights to the lines of 4 June, 1967.

If true, an incomprehensibly stupid concession.

According to the terms, Syria will also agree to end its support for Hezbollah and Hamas and will distance itself from Iran.

And if you believe that, I have a beautiful plot of land in Gaza for sale...

Flying pigs - they'd make good bombs over Tehran.

No word yet at CNN or Jpost or Drudge, but it's right there in the Haaretz headline.

They're negotiating PARKS.

I thought it was Onion, too, but let's see if this is real.

Maybe Syria thinks the 'with us' is a safer column to be in these days. Go USS Reagan.

When they say secret, do they mean another agreement brokered by uberschlamazel Shimon Peres?

What I said on the other thread: My first reaction is pig in a poke.

There might be one outside chance, however. Maybe the Saudis persuaded Syria to throw in with the Sunni Arabs and stop messing around with Iran and the Shiite terrrorists. Maybe the Syrian regime was feeling too much pressure from all directions.

Not sure I believe that, but it's the one hopeful thing I can think of.

Israel may have told Syria to cooperate against Iran, "or else". Kind of like what we told Pakistan after 9-11, as some believe.

Is it a "Historic Seven-Year" peace agreement?

Well, perhaps Assad has seen the writing on the wall. His grip on power has always been tenuous at best. It actually makes sense for Assad to agree to this; it just remains to be seen whether he does or not.

I mean, what's the future in being aligned with Iran right now? Doesn't it make sense that Assad shop around a little?

I actually believe he just might see this through, if he knows what's good for him.
