There is a frightening number of sick-os in America today that think nothing is wrong with man-boy "love" and probably think that Shawn and Mike's "relationship" should be touted. Bolsters their sick-o agenda.
Poor Shawn. God bless him. I pray that the healing power of Christ will touch him and make him whole again.

You can see the unpspoken shame and embarrassment in the older boy's gaze. He does not understand how vulnerable he was, to what extreme he was a manipulated victim not a participant and he feels his own sense of guilt for what happened. (he shouldn't, but he does)
He needs now and will need lots of help for a long time. After a few years with his perpatrator he had two possible futures waiting for him, if help did not arrive beforehand - one of constant self-destructive behavior, manifested at times in extreme rage (lashing out) and/or sucicde attmepts - from the erroneous guilt and shame he has acquired, or one of becoming just like his perp. He still has a high risk of self-destructive behavior if he cannot unlearn the guilt and shame.
They expect a child to act like an adult when most adults don't even act like an adult.
