I would reply to the Rabbi, who votes for dems, Jews or Christians, and who votes for republicans, Jews or Christians?
When it comes to people cutting their own throats, I say take the beam out of your eye, Rabbi.

There is a huge difference between secular Jews (read atheists) and practicing Jews who believe in God. That difference shows in many ways, including voting patterns. There are many Jewish FReepers. May there be many more.

I say take the beam out of your eye, Rabbi.I can pretty much guarantee that this particular rabbi, and those who follow him, vote Republican.

Indeed. This guy doesn't have any control, other than what he writes and says, on the way other jews vote, whether they're religious or not.
I say good on him for speaking up.

As I see, my main point I would've answered you has already been made by others - namely, the unimaginable difference between Orthodox and unorthodox Jews. It is so in every possible sense. I, myself, am an ultra-orthodox Jew. And let me just say this: having voted for Bush, thinking and believing the way I do - I am still considered in my circles to be quite a liberal...

While it is true that most Jews vote Democrat, this is not the case with Rabbi Lapin, therefore, he need not "take the beam out of" his eye. Nor is it the case for ALL Jews, of course. Not all Christians vote GOP either. My next door neighbor is a case in point. He attends that cute little church that they use on the TV series "Seventh Heaven." I can almost completely guarantee you that the majority of those who attend that church vote Democrat.
Rabbi Lapin fought with us here in Los Angeles to KEEP the cross on the country seal.

...more than half of one and about half of the other.
"When it comes to people cutting their own throats, I say take the beam out of your eye, Rabbi."
That's an old one. It was a very popular line in Europe over 60 years ago and goes back at least a couple of thousand years.

You refer to JINOs, not actual Jews.
That's like pasting all Roman Catholics with the brush of Ted Kennedy or Jon Carey --- or all Baptists with tthe brush of Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton.

Congratulations! You're the first person to post a reply based on the headline, without reading the article. I'm surprised it took until #7 for someone to blast Jews based on the headline alone.

I agree totally. Who first has the duty to speak to suicidal, secular Jews?

I would reply to the Rabbi, who votes for dems, Jews or Christians, and who votes for republicans, Jews or Christians? Jews are waking up. That 1% voting Republican will probably double in a couple of decades.
