I understand what you are saying, but everything has something to do with economics. Lucky for us this garbage, if passed, would still have to go through the Senate and be signed by the President. I know his veto pen is rusty, but I think he may be greasing it up.

As stand alone bills, there are any number of things President Bush will probably veto. The parliamentarians here probably know a whole lot more than I do about the process, but it seems to me that when the Democrats want to pass something the President doesn't like, they will include it in a "must spend" bill - like money to fund the war in Iraq.

President Ford used his veto pen over eighty times with a Democratic congress. Guess W will need to keep his at the ready during the next two years.
