If you cannot prove you have been in Clark County less than 24 hours and use your gun in self defense you may be charged at the whim of the county D.A., no matter how justified your firearm use.
It is time for this "registration" cash cow and hassle to go away, and we need to support this bill, as if we don't the liberals of L.V. intend to expand this "registration" to the rest of the state.
I have been to the legislature to observe and to testify on RKBA related bills many times, I have no doubt that the Nevada Sheriff & Chief's Association will scream and lie to prevent L.V. having to give up their pet "registration". The association really wants to expand registration state-wide, so will suddenly find (manufacture) "Proof" that it solves all sorts of crimes.
We finally have a genuine pro-gun governor, it is time to dump Gun Registration in ALL of Nevada!
I sure am glad that I don't travel to Vegas more than a couple of times a year and then generally it's an overnight trip because I had no idea that I was supposed to register my handgun with the Sheriff.
Why?
Because anyone who knows his/her business about carrying concealed, knows how not to be noticed.
I am quite capable of killing persons my size or smaller (or bigger if I get the bulge on them!) with my bare hands.
I suppose the next great thing will be that I have to register my hands, or put them in a lock-box (next to my generative organ).

I live in Vegas, born here, and am moving out of the county in a couple months for reasons like this in many areas.. but I do not understand your use of the term "Cashcow". While unconstitutional, a PITA and scary, registration of your handgun in las vegas costs nothing but about 15 minutes at the local copshop substastion. I think the better result of the bill being passed would be the elimination of the north las vegas and boulder city bans on open carry or carry in your personal vehicle, and to once and for all (hopefully) end the threat of statewide registration.
Just my $.02, YMMV
