that sounds familiar about him being in the movie. I just remember how sad it all was to have gotten him back after 7 yrs., only to lose him again so soon.

Oh I know. Like someone else had said, if this had been a novel, you wouldn't believe it. I wonder how the parents are doing these days.

Here's another weird twist to the Stayner story that I just ran across:

The story was documented in a book by Mike Echols, and made into a TV movie, I Know My First Name Is Steven. In 2003 Echols died under suspicious circumstances in jail.

I wonder how the author ended up in jail?
