Did you hear about the company that's going to give the Akerses a new house? They're going to build on the same property and also make room for an office for the Foundation.

Shawn Hornbeck's Family To Receive New Home

CHESTERFIELD, Mo. -- McBride and Son Homes said the ranch-style home will be built on the property where Shawn and his parents now live in Richwoods.
The basement will serve as an office for the Shawn Hornbeck Foundation, an organization that helps in the search for missing children.

LOL... I heard this on the local STL News and was going to post about the new house they are getting. Glad to see someone else has also learned about it on FR.
I don't know who it was, just some "newsie" I didn't know, trying to make a name for himself on the backs of the Ackers family.
The point, though, was unmistakeable. Shawn talked to a cop about his missing bike. Shawn had access to this and was given that, by Devlin. Had friends. Slept over at other places. Had them over. Rode a bike out late and was stopped by cops for curfew. Had a girl friend. BUT HE DIDN'T TELL ANYONE, ASK FOR HELP, TRY TO ESCAPE, PHONE HOME, ETC.
Both the newsie and Greta said it was bizarre, and were just shaking their heads at the incredibility of it all.
Oh, and she asked him at the end about Shawn's dad being a sex offender and was there more to that story that could be shared, and the guy gave a real knowing look and said he and others he knows are working that angle very hard but were't quite ready to go with it. She said get back about it as soon as you can and he said "Sure thing".
