WASHINGTON — The White House fired back Friday at Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer's verbal slap at Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, calling the California Democrat's caustic comments about Rice's family life "outrageous."
Boxer lit into Rice on Thursday with bitter diatribe during a heated line of questioning before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee looking into Iraq policies. At one point, Boxer turned to the broad question of who pays the ultimate price for war. Rice has never married and has no children.
"Who pays the price? I'm not going to pay a personal price. My kids are too old and my grandchild is too young," Boxer said. "You're not going to pay a particular price, as I understand it, with an immediate family. So who pays the price? The American military and their families."

I'm not going to pay a personal price. My kids are too old and my grandchild is too young,"Condi should have said: You have kids? Sitting here looking at you now makes it hard to imagine how that could have come about.

Wow! I have never really ventured over to DU, but most of all their rants are completely based on emotion. No logic. No common sense. Just emotion. Wow... I guess I learned my lesson on that one.

I'm just glad Secretary Rice didn't sing the National Anthem. Boxer probably would have called in a vanload of her "homies" to beat the Secretary up.

Does anybody remember who Boxer beat the first time she ran for the Senate? He was a real conservative. She played some dirty politics to win and barely beat him. I was very disappointed. That shows you how much CA. has changed since she was elected.

And it is a voluntary sacrifice.

Boxer is a crude piece of pond scum. As Rush said today, why isn't she concerned about the 6 female US senators who have no children talking about education issues or other children's issues? Californians who vote for Boxer should have their heads examined. She is just a terrible evil woman.

Democrat operatives were screaming this same theme on AOL boards, over and over. It was a different variation but the same theme: "When Bush sends his daughters to Iraq, I'll send my son."
So.... I started replying to all that with the following:
Did JFK send Caroline to Vietnam or the Bay of Pigs?
Did LBJ send his kids to Vietnam?
Did Clinton send Chelsea to Bosnia?
Suddenly, that particular tirade ended and they started trying a different tactic.
Whats funny about Boxers argument, is that, aside from it being completely insensitive, is that it backfires logically, because, since she (BOXER) doesn't have kids to send, her own opinion must also be considered worthless? If the premise is that one must have kids of draft age to have credibilty, Boxer herself is no source for wisdom on the subject. Then again, if liberals understood logic, people like Sen. Edwards wouldn't have to interrupt themselves all the time.

I think you had a tart reply to another post of mine some time back. Thats what I seem to remember. There was this post about 'credibility' or some such, when I was asking a simple question. So, I guess you could say I have a long memory.

I know about three thousand people that paid the price for inaction, complacency, and denial on 9/11. Ms. Pelosi, you lack class, you lack insight, you lack historical perspective, you lack the dogged determination needed to win the war on terror, and you lack an exemption from higher minimum wages in American Samoa...what I don't get is why the rest of the Dems would allow you to be speaker? Have they no better leadership that a woman who acts like a prepubescent junior girl in a cat fight?

She may as well shut up on the war then, since she doesn't have a stake in it either(as she stated).
What an absolute idiot. I just wish Condi would have said, "excuse me? Are you suggesting because I don't have children I am not qualified as Sec. of State? Is that really what you are saying???"

The Washington Times, which is supposed to be a conservative leaning paper, put on their front page today the most unflattering picture of Condoleeza Rice that their photographer could take. It has Dr Rice saying a word like "you" or "shrew" with a sneer. It is so negative that I have to conclude that the Washington Times is part of the group of conservatives who are not supportive of the Bush Administration.

To take a page from Trump:
"Boxer is a slob, I have no interest in Boxer, you shouldn't even mention those two women in the same breath. Boxer is no winner, she's a loser, Boxer is a liar. Let's face it, Boxer is not a very good person and now it will be up to Pelosi and Reid to keep this animal at bay. Fat Chance..."
