Good morning!

We are expecting ice all weekend so if you all don't hear from me send out the national guard :)

Not really but the electricity may go out, wish us luck.

Any suggestions to stay warm without a fireplace?

I don't..If my electricity goes I can use my fireplace and hover close. I have been watching the news..I hate ice storms. I am at my daughter's near Houston where an ice storm is unlikely. Good luck, stay safe and hopefully warm.

Good afternoon, stopem. I'm trying like heck to stay warm and this is southern California! Whose idea was it to provide minimal insulation and LOUVRED WINDOWS in this building? Perhaps it was meant only for summer residency?

Even with the gas furnace on.... pffftt!!

I'm sure others will have more effective suggestions for you than I if your power goes out, but I would suggest bundling yourself up in a down comforter or sleeping bag and singing all the songs you know. At least you have some candles and battery operated lanterns for light, don't you?

Of course, you know not to use propane indoors....
