That is cool!!

When I lived near the beach in Santa Monica, scrub jays visited our tiny backyard. One day, I took some bird seed out on a paper plate and set it on the picnic table. The scrub jay pecked at it, but the plate kept moving. She then stood there, looked at me and kept squawking until I got the message and dumped the bird seed off the plate onto the table where she could peck successfully.

Being bossed around by a jaybird.... what bliss!!! ;^)

I'm not surprised. Scrub jays are very intelligent birds. And very demanding. We have a pair that were hatched in our lemon tree a couple years ago. They keep coming around for peanuts. They have become very tame and will come right up to me and follow me around the yard begging for a handout. I worry about them when I don't see them for awhile. I feel like I'm their mom. LOL.
