The main problem here is that Ford has not had "a better idea" in 40 years. The low price market has gone to the Koreans. Since Ford can't compete in the low price market, they are stuck with competing against Toyota, Honda and Nissan. No contest. Ford loses.

OTOH, if I had the disposable cash, there would be a Ford-GT sitting next to my Vette.

The retro Mustang and the new GT are the two things Ford has done right in the last 15 years. Unfortunately for Ford, the price of the GT is way too high to allow enough quantity to make much money.

Those fords are what the public wants but not neutered pip squeek engings.

Ford is totally stuck on stupid.

It seems they are doing desperation design to the least common denominator.

The days when a bankrupt chrysler can make a k car and survive on gone. The cheepest import often has more features than the top of the line version of a particular ford model.

When the CEO is buying a Toyota (lexus whatever) it speaks VOLUMES to the survivability of ford.

I wish they would build those GT's for the masses rather than a bait and switch beauty queen for the show room.
