NO! Do NOT agree to pay anything!

If you agree to any culpability whatsoever, even after you pay, they can come back for more with any potential complications. They could even sue you in civil court based on YOUR admission of responsibility.

Pay them NOTHING, get a lawyer to make sure they understand that your position is that THEY are at fault, and if they keep bothering you, it will be considered harrassment, and that you will be watching to see if they continue to allow their pooch to run free.

In matters like these, it is best to let folks know that you wont be F%$&ED with.

Where were you when the Pomeranian attacked?

You've heard the expression "no good deed goes unpunished"?

Well we paid for half of the Pomeranian's vet bill. Over $300 bucks. We did it because we felt sorry for the little dog. Stupid dog. What the hell, a ten pound dog attacking an 80 pound dog? What was it thinking?

I never, not in a million years, thought it would happen AGAIN! Husband and I figured, offer to pay half the bill just to be nice. Even those folks stated they knew we had no obligation to pay...again, their dog was LOOSE and attacked Jo-Ann, on a public street as she was on a leash and tethered in a harness. We did get them to sign a disclaimer that this was not an admission of guilt but we never would have done such a thing had I one inkling that another dog would attack Jo-Ann. We are not rich for God's sake and go with me here, DOGS SHOULD NOT BE RUNNING LOOSE!

My Vet says that Jo-Ann is a like a beautiful woman and is tempting to dogs. He then went on to say "if a beautiful woman is raped because she's beautiful, is it her fault?"

Hey, I'm not real sure I understand his logic as it sure seems a stretch to me. But for sure I've got this Belgian Malinois and hey, she is a beautiful dog, that keeps getting attacked, I simply could not make this shit up.

PLUS, with the Pomeranian Jo-Ann suffered nary a scratch. The cocker did get a nasty bite in. The Pomeranian merely ran directly up under Jo-Ann's mouth and soon that little scruff was being swung back and forth in Jo-Ann's mouth like he was a little rag doll. I did give Jo-Ann the command to "DROP" and she did.

She's a wonderful dog and the SPCA guy knew it. Case closed.
