I would never to go iTunes while on dial up, it just took too long to even preview stuff. Broadband makes it a breeze.

I can't get highspeed where I'm at so it makes me appreciate that much more what I DL, but it would be SO nice to upgrade to speed. I am literally three house up and three houses down from where Highspeed ends.

Some innovative kid will come up with an idea to deliver music and art together via digital DL in a package which is truly neat. However, there is no question this media should be less expensive and browsable so you don't end up buying CRAP you don't want. Until then people are going to go to the (For now) legal Russian sites to buy .10 songs.

It's already done. On the P2P networks they package albums in .rar archives (like .zip) with scanned in artwork from the CD along with all the tracks from the CD. ....not that I would know :)

Personally I like having the actual CD. Not only do I copy it to disk to play on my stereo system, but I retain the rights to the music.

And of course the quality trounces mp3. Mp3 is the devil.

Now if I could download SACD, then we can talk.

Get to know your neighbors, offer to split their cable bill with them, and with a few hundred dollars' worth of wireless equipment, you can enjoy blazing fast connections.

Have you checked with more than one provider? Where I used to live, I had Earthlink tell me I was too far from the switch for DSL, and then Bellsouth hooked me up without a hitch.

For that matter, if you know the neighbors three doors down well enough, you could set up a couple of wireless routers with directional antennas, and split the cost ...
